Two fuel filters, Coolant Filter, Air Cleaner, Anti-Freeze and Oil Change..... Good deal on filters at : www rvchassisparts.com They have EVERYTHING for the DIYer........... Cleaned the cooling coils on the front Carrier air conditioner..........Will do the rear today........Have to get up there early since it's been in the 90's here in Crystal River by mid afternoon....... I use Grease Relief on the both coils and clean all the junk and fungus out....It really helps keep the machine running cool..... My backup camera system has space for two cameras......I mounted a second camera on the roof, in front of and just higher than the air conditioner (Which is the tallest point on the bus).....I can approach a suspect overpass slowly and if the camera shows that it will make it under the overpass, I know the rest of the bus will too..........I know it's an expensive way to do it, but it sure works for me......It also gives me a great look down the road when I'm in bumper to bumper traffic......I can see over everyone for miles ahead........ I installed four Levelor Mini Blinds in the Living/Kitchen.....Cordless, Routless (No holes where the cords go through to let light in when the blinds are closed)....... Last month had two new front HWH leveling jacks installed......Had to have new brackets welded on first.....Then, new jacks bolted in and changed the fluid......Also had to get new electric motor to run the hydraulic pump.... Parts were about 600 bucks and labor for welder and hydraulic mechanic about 800 bucks..........The system works like new again......... This bus is now ten years old and this is the first big money I've had to spend.......The Spartan chasis, Cummins engine and Allison transmission have all been excelent over these ten years.....I hope to be in this same bus for another 10 years.....315Views0likes0CommentsRe: What did you do to your Class A MH today???
Moved my 20" Flatscreen to the bedroom and added a 40" HDTV Flatscreen to the living room...Dishnet work is now offering a FREE upgrade to a HDTV DVR, so if you're thinking of doing the same thing, do it NOW......... I also broke down and installed a new screen door latch.........The manufacturer wanted 57 bucks for the plastic part and I resisted buying it for about a year......I couldn't come up with a better way to hold the screen door closed tightly, so I had to get the junk part......I know it will snap again in about a year because this is about the third or fourth catch I've replaced....337Views0likes0CommentsRe: Anyone make a mistake buying first MH ?
We bought a new 32 ft. Motorhome at a dealer on Long Island.....The name on the side of the coach was BRAVO.....It was our first motorhome..........We financed about half of the 35 thousand it cost......We left for Florida a week later.......... We had trouble with the generator and the refrigerator and went into a dealer in Tallahassee, Florida to get the warranty work done........ The dealer told us that the Motorhome was not a BRAVO and was actually a HONEY..........Since HONEY had gone out of business, he could not honor the warranty......... The dealer on Long Island, NY bought up several HONEY motorhomes and changed the name on all of them........... I called the bank who financed the unit and they told me no matter what he did with the coach, they had it listed as a Chevrolet Motorhome and they expected me to pay the balance of the money I owed them...... I told them since I had no warranty at all and the dealer defrauded me, I was going to stop making payments and hire a lawyer...... By this time the dealer had sold all the other units he had and gone out of business....... We used the motorhome for three years without making payments...... One day a Sheriff pulled up at the lot we own in Florida and repossessed the unit... We went to court in Florida to try and get it back, but since we had signed an agreement with the bank, the Judge said we should have made the payments anyway.......Even if the dealer had defrauded us...... I had filed a Police Report on Long Island claiming that the dealer had actually stolen our money by accepting a down payment..........He never gave the bank the down payment, so they wanted him arrested also.. Although we lost the motorhome, we did live in it for free for about three and a half years, so we really didn't loose much money.......... They never found the dealer because he had used a false name..... I figured the 15 thousand we put down more than covered what we would have paid anywhere else to rent an apartment for three and a half years, and we got to travel where we wanted, so I wasn't too disappointed when we lost the bus...... I guess the bank lost a good deal of money on the unit, but they should have checked out the dealer they were doing financing for.........
