It’s much easier than messing around with the generator anyway.Re: What percent of the time do you leave your TC on your truck?Ours is on the truck about 90% of the time. I built a large garage (24’x40’) with 14’ doors on it for my camper and other toys.Re: Gaining AltitudeSounds like a fun trip, I’d suggest staying out of campgrounds for the next trip here, at least some of your nights. There’s lot’s of legal dispersed camping here in Western Colorado. I’d be happy to suggest some spots in our side of the state.Re: The new and improved Truck Camper Enthusiasts MapFebruary 2020Re: 2014, adding overload springsWe did very much the same thing. One long spring in the main pack and one in the overloads. It made a night and day difference in how the truck handled. It cost about $500 at "The Spring Works" in Grand Junction, Colorado.Re: Sooooo... Do you lock your door?We almost never lock the door. Most of our camper use is boondocking in western Colorado, we sleep with the main door open and screen door shut. I think we would be more likely to have bear problems than people problems. We were in the parking lot at Cheyenne Frontier Das last week and locked the camper while we were out and about.Re: How HI and LO you been?Buzz, Does riding a bicycle to the top of Molas Pass from Durango count? I rode the Ironhorse two days ago in a snowstorm... We also drove the camper across Molas and Red Mountain going home to Palisade...in a snow storm.Re: Diesel Price!!$2.69 in Fruita, Colorado. We paid $2.49 in Albuquerque a few days ago.Re: Hunting seasonI'll be basing out of mine in Colorado's unit 61 for a bull elk hunt on October 18. It's only 48 miles from home but it will save a bunch of time. I'll have to blow out my water lines before the hunt though, too cold to have water in them.Re: Just Suspension Recommendations - No Legal Weight AdviceI started out with a 2004 F-250 with overload springs. We bought a camper that was a bit too heavy, like most people. I first put Timbrens on which helped but the bottoming out was rough. Then I added the torklift bump stops which also helped. Next stop was 19.5" tires with Chinese wheels, this was a big upgrade. The final piece was adding and extra leaf to the main pack an an extra leaf to the overloads. Now it handles great. If I had to do it over again I would start with a Dually truck.
