Now THAT'S funny! :BRe: Not For The Faint of Heart"Calling ahead to reserve a site (tent camping) we had a very limited selection to choose from, but the host assured us there was enough space within a secluded area of the campground." Key word: Secluded. I would generally expect this to mean "far away from bathroom". You were obviously unhappy with your stay, but from your post it's difficult to see how it's the campgrounds fault. Hills? Squirrels? I checked out their site and it doesn't identify the terrain. Perhaps they should. But if it were my bad back and medical needs, I'd be sure to inquire when booking a site. And if it were up to me (it isn't) we'd be a tent camping family. I love my Kiwi, but roughing it in a tent is real camping.Re: Before and After PhotosFantastic job. I've never seen a rig with more personality shining through!Re: Jayco 23B Mattress Issue - UnevennessSo you've got a 2" memory foam over the factory cushions, and the slightly uneven design is keeping you up? You sure you don't have a pea under the mattress? j/k I think most any spacer would work. Maybe even a folded blanket.Re: Pushy neighborI tell my kids to be nosey and annoying as possible. That way, no stranger WANTS to take them, and they stay safe.Re: Sleeping on a J-Steel SofaI don't think the issue of being "trapped" is any more (or any less) than sleeping in the fold out bunk. Nature of the beast. The width of the couch (at least mine, which is a 2002) requires that the 2 people be fairly intimate or otherwise familiar. In other words, we only sleep one person there, although the lengthwise crack from the fold would be a good dividing line when sleeping 2. I don't think you could sleep the "other" way, unless we're talking kids.Re: Sleeping on a J-Steel Sofa PAThwacker wrote: Jayco 23b has horrible ground clearance and dismal sub 900lb payload. Slanted driveway and it drags, horrible dump valve height, or overload it with full tanks. Hmmm. I've read the quote three times now and I STILL can't figure out how this addresses the couch crack issue...Re: For the guy .......Whoever is telling the OP to "chill out" seemed to have missed the point. Or maybe it's me who doesn't get it? This was an internet chill pill. A means to discuss something that is frustrating because we KNOW there is nothing we can do about it. The people who lean on the horns or tailgate when this happens are the ones who need to chill. Discussing it later on with a forum of your peers shows good form, IMHO. And for the record: my handle is in reference to my pre-football parties, not my driving habits.Re: Exactly how important is a slide? You absolutely, most definitely do NOT need a slide. Until you do.Re: Leave the kids home!!!Anyone who has camped has had to deal with less than ideal neighbors. The difference maker is how the offending neighbors react. Consider the crying baby. If mom and pop do nothing, the sound is unbearable. If they make obvious attempts to satiate the kid (drives in the car, constant cuddling, soft singing, etc) then the crying usually seems less offensive.
