Owners of Dodge based RV's?This is just a thank you for the support this group has been over the years with the 1976 Dodge Midas Mini. I sold her to a young man that will continue the journey. Still will camp but not sure what the road holds up ahead as we are retiring in 2017. Happy Trails Bill and LaurieRe: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's? Runs great and haven't touched it since bolting it on. They are a copy of the old Carter that came on my 59 caddy. Sounds worth checking out. ThanksRe: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Hi all it's been awhile. Over 600 pages and ten years sounds just like my journey with my Midas Mini. Congratulations on the milestone. Weird summer. Bought, sold and moved principle residence. No camping. :-( Now have a condo and logistics for storage, repairing, and loading unloading are way different. I am hoping to get in a few fall weekends. Batt and Carb issues are still start issues. Better with manual choke. Gasohol is a problem in everything from gens to boat motors to snowboards. Hate the stuff. Carter 2bbl now what would be the best upgrade?Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Phantom here is a link that might help. http://www.thefind.com/appliances/info-lighted-assist-bar BillRe: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Hi all. Really chomping at the bit to get out. Just turned 62 but alas still need to work. This is our tenth year with the Midas. Having a great time with her. Happy trails to you all! :C BillRe: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?To err is human to forgive is not SAC policy. Peace is our Profession War is just a hobby. Minot MiMS 1970-72:CRe: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?I guess they don't make things like they used to :W The OEM (1976) power converter died. Anything to consider when replacing the old 30 amp unit? Thanks BillRe: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Hi Trish, This may be obvious but perhaps checking the online sales ebay craigslist etc might prove helpful. If you give us some descriptors we could help look in our neck of the woods? I'm a counselor for two counties and have groups on trying to get parole/probation clients to think differently. Its hopeful at times and chilling at others. I was burgled twice in 6 weeks. Some times they come back for the new item. I like people. Criminals on the other hand deserve what they get. BillRe: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?It's been a long while since I wrote about my Midas Mini redo. Sometimes it feel that the only thing that is not new is the tub but it has been worth it. The interior has held up well over the past five years, The roof is super since it all had to go. The headers and short dual exhaust keeps me at 9.5 mpg if I stay at 55mph or less. All was fine until the main spring on the awning let loose on the freeway and I had the whole enchilada all over the freeway. Fortunately no other consequences to others on that. After deciding to bite the bullet and replace the awning and repair some body damage I found a new 28" door for $80. I provided the retired guys a summer of entertainment as I Installed the door, sanded, primed, sanded, prepped, and painted her in my front driveway. Adding the new awning and some graphics plus a homemade loon graphic she looks pretty good for a 1976 rig. Color is International Harvester white from Farm and Home. I think of it as Nyquil for the RV. :Z Wow. Did the air suspension make a difference in ride and stability when on a site. A couple times we did not use the stabilizer jack stands.:)
