Then after the first of the year we can look for something newer. Now that we know we really enjoy it, I wouldn't mind spending a bit more to get something nice. We just have to decide what route - do we stick to a travel trailer, look at a class A, Class B, what? Right now there are 6 of us, but it won't stay that way forever.Re: Feeling sad todayYes, Ron. There are several issues with it - it has water damage (which we can do ourselves), it's going to need a new A/C and fridge, some work on the heating system, roof leaks, etc Just starting to think it may be a money pit.Re: Feeling sad todayLOL Newman!Re: Feeling sad todayNewman, if the trailer was in better shape I would agree. There are a number of things that will have to be done in the next year and we could easily spend 7-10 grand in repairs.Re: Feeling sad todayNo. As old as the trailer is, we didn't have insurance (other than coverage for an accident)Re: Feeling sad todayThe axle cannot be repaired, it has to be replaced and the axles are obsolete. They cannot get new ones so they are researching what might fit or be able to retrofit. Problem is that means we have to do both axles. Between that and the other things that we know we will have to do in the next year, we are questioning the wisdom of spending the money on it.Feeling sad todayI'm feeling sad today. It looks like the end of the RV adventure for us for a little while. We lost an axle on the way to Florida and I think we are about ready to call it a loss. :-( I'm hoping after the first of the year to get something else, but we'll see. We will have to decide what route we want to take when we replace it.Re: question about rv toiletTurtle, you were so right!! It was so much easier to just pull the toilet and get it done. Had it repaired and back in no time. I'm getting more comfortable with this thing for sure! Hubby even climbed up on the roof and tinkered with the A/C to finish out the year. Might have to look into replacing it next year though - looks like the fan has had it and considering the age...not sure we can get a fan and motor. We'll see. Thanks everyone! You made it so much easier!Re: question about rv toiletOn second thought, that's what I get for listening to the hubby. I just went out myself and looked and there are two bolts holding it. From a google search, I think it might be The Aqua Magic V. Will I need to remove it, to get to the back?Re: question about rv toiletThis has a flush handle on the side and there are no visible bolts holding it down. If I google Thetford toilets and then look at images, I don't find one just like ours.
