Truck had air bags, D rated tires and other upgrades to help stability. It had plenty of power to tow it but in any cross breeze it was a handful. Traded up to an F250 and its night and day difference. I now enjoy the ride and arrive much more relaxed.Re: Ford day time running lightsSearch for ForScan on FTE forum and you can read all you want.Re: towing adviceAs others have said a 35' TT is too much for a Tahoe. I've owned several Tahoe's and they are just not built to handle that length. My current TT is pretty much identical to your spec's and I towed it with a 2014 Silverado 1500 CC 4wd for a year with but I spent a lot of time getting the WD hitch setup perfectly. Even with that it would get a little interesting on the highway at times. The truck had enough power (5.3l w/ 6 speed and 3.42 gears) but I could never get it stable enough where I arrived at the campground relaxed. Switched to an F250 and it is night and day different. I don't feel like the tail is wagging the dog anymore.Re: Savannah GA area CGWe stayed at Skidaway back in April. Great campground in a great area and just a short drive to Savannah. Already planning a trip back next year b/c we only spent one day looking around the city (tons to see). Spent one day checking out Tybee Island and Fort Pulaski which my kids loved. UGA Aquarium and Skidaway Institute of Oceanography are only a few minutes away from the campground. Wish we were there longer. Only bad part at that time of year was the gnats. I guess people up there are used to them but they were bad even in the city.Re: Airbag question about manual fillI have the Air Lift bags and compressor on my '14 Silverado 1500. I've had the compressor on the last 3 vehicles I've owned and wouldn't go back. Before that I had 2 trucks without it. Easy to adjust on the fly and I don't have to carry anything extra. Did take a few hours to install with running all the wires and tube but not bad. Definitely worth it in my opinion.Re: Silverado 1500... Enough?2014 1500 Silverado with the 5.3 6-speed, 3.42 gears and an Equal-i-zer WD hitch. My TT is just over 7,500 lbs loaded and it pulls fine. Not as well as a diesel of course but good enough for me. Granted I live in Florida so I'm not towing over any mountains. I have tow/haul on and run it in 5th gear which holds pretty well. If I start taking longer trips outside of Florida I might think differently but I'm happy with how it tows.
