Some 4 lane but a lot of interesting small museums and historical sites.Re: Grand Tour of National ParksTHanks everyone for your help. I have a Streets and trip program that I can plan the route with. And will do s. After which I will ask for specific route information. I have a 26ft 5th wheel and pull average grades. Look for my repost.Grand Tour of National ParksI am thinking of taking the Grand Tour next (2019) year. I have seen Tour Bus ads where they talk about starting in Las Vegas and going to Zion Nat Park and on to the Arches and then east to Colorado and through the Monument Vallet, Grand Canyon and other National Parks. Has anyone ever made this trip pulling a 5th wheel? Would you mind telling me about it. What routes did you follow, what issues should I be concerned with, how are the roads, and campgrounds?Re: Florida's fullThanks Speak Easy. That is an excellent site to use as it directs you to alternative parks.Re: Highway 74 from Lake Elsinore to Laguna BeachGo to google earth and look at the road. You will be able to look at any point on the route.Re: Bone Lick State ParkWe have stayed there a couple of years ago. The had several bison at the park and a very nice museum of pelintology. There is a very nice place to eat just west of the park. You should also know that there is a steep entrance to the campground.Re: Custer's Last StandThere are two CG west at Harden, Mt. Don't miss stopping at the Big Horn County Museum while in the area. It is a restored 1800 western city that the County maintains. Check it out on http://www.bighorncountymuseum.org/Re: Advice for campgrounds in Northern Kentucky/Southern OhioPlan on spending a day at the Ark near Williamstown, Ky., then spend the night at Big Bone Lick State Park,3380 Beaver Rd. Union KY 41091 ( 20 miles north). The next day drive to the Creation Museum at Petersburg, Ky., and then spend the night at Indian Springs Campground, 3306 State Line Rd. North Bend OH 45052 ( about 5 miles distance). Both of these are family oriented and educational.Re: New to fiver's but have 25 yrs. with a Truck CamperI have a 25 foot Keystone Hornet that I have been dragging around for the last eight years. I have yet to find a site that I can not fit into. I use a small electric heater ( if hooked into power) to keep the cold off at night and the propane furnace in the mornings if it is still cold. The single battery that runs the fan will only last one night and it is not good practice to drain the battery. I have read and talked to people that have installed a Solar Panel and have had good luck in using it to keep batteries charged. I would be concerned about freezing the water tanks and lines if the storage area was not heated as I have no insolation in the storage area.
