Seeing the pictures is worth the effort to join.Re: Air conditioner not keeping up in 5th wheel ChopperBill wrote: We stay AZ in the winter but it can get into to 90's before we leave. Only 30 amp in the park. All the neighbors have a little longer rv's, none over 36', and vary from a Mobile Suite to a Monaco to a Sansabar to a Montana. All of them complain about their AC not keeping them cool. We only have one 15000 AC and you could hang meat in it when running, even shuts down when it reaches our selected temp. Not sure how it would do when it gets to a100, but we that are what the wheels are for. On edit: bet 80% of the units are not blowing enough air. That is what the "tent in the vent" mod is for. increased air flow by about 50% in our prior 40' rv made a world of difference. Took a little time to find out this "tent in the vent" but it sounds interesting and is a heck of a lot cheaper than a 2nd A/C unit. Certainly worth a try. Thanks for sharing.Re: Air conditioner not keeping up in 5th wheel HappyKayakers wrote: I have a single AC with 4 slide 5er. Have you tried the Quick Cool feature on your AC? On mine, it's a vent that opens directly below the AC unit and dumps lots of cool air into the RV very quickly, more than you can get through the ductwork. Yes we did. It is loud as heck but does a good job in the main room. Unfortunately , at the expense of the bedroom. Sounds like a 2nd A/C is what it might take. Not news I really wanted but it is what it is. Some other good tips of things to check next time I head out. Thanks folks. Keep the advice coming.Air conditioner not keeping up in 5th wheelThe 5th wheel is a 35QSIK with 4 slides. Is it normal for the single air conditioner to struggle to cool the 5th wheel when the temp is only in the mid to upper 80s? The air conditioner finally won, but it took hours to do so. The next day was much better because we left the air on all day so the RV was never allowed to heat up. Doesn't bode well for later this summer with temps in the mid 90s. If this is normal, what are my option to help keep the RV cool? I would rather not have to run out and buy a second AC unit if I can avoid it.Re: How do YOU start your campfire?Another vote for charcoal lighter fluid.Re: cell phone data use warming wcjeep wrote: Google Plus can be set to only backup when on wifi and connected to power. Most apps can be disabled. When disabled, the app won't appear in the normal app tray. The disabled app will not update either. I also prefer Dropbox. Best answer here. I use and love Google +. It is hard to beat the simplicity of the automatic uploads, however, you have to make sure it only does it on wifi. It is a simple thing to click on in the settings of Google+.Re: Dewinterize or not?One way to think about it: It is safe to dewinterize when the seasonal campgrounds turn their water on. They have more at stake with 200 water lines sticking out of the ground two feet. If they were going to freeze, that would be an easier target then your insulated underbelly of your 5er. Our campground turned on the water 4/1. We went camping on the 4th and dewinterized. I'm in southern Ohio so YMMV.Re: Portable Ice MakersGot ours for free. Just by chance, we got a flyer from the camper store saying that if you bought an RV that day, you got a free ice maker. We had already negotiated the deal and set up closing on that date long before the add came out. Just luck. We love it so far.Re: Adding SiriusXM to TrailerSimple solution. Let Sirius give you the discount. This is how it works. Start a subscription with the best deal you can get for 6 months then cancel after the 6 months (end of camping season). Sirius will want your business back so they will mail you increasingly better deals. Within a few months, you should have an offer for 6 months for $25.00. That is over 70% off. Keep that paperwork and sign back up again at the start of camping season. Rinse and repeat each year.Re: Your RigBought this a couple of months ago, but just picked it up two weeks ago. Weather has been way too crappy to use it yet.
