Mostly to $3.43.Re: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!$3.47 a gallon seems to be the new popular price for gasoline.Re: Trip report: boondocking and hiking near Tioga Pass profdant139 wrote: There were fish in all of the lakes and streams -- but they were very small trout! Very few people fishing. (Very few people anywhere, actually -- once we get away from the trailhead, we are often alone for the whole day.) A ranger once told me that trying to raise trout in an alpine lake is like trying to grow alfalfa on a tennis court. Not sure what that means, but it sounds challenging. Means that there is darned little food for the trout. Plus the clear water make the trout "skittish." Great pictures. Makes me wish I was 50 years younger.Re: FISHING IN MINNESOTA jnharley wrote: Looking for a place in the lakes area of Minnesota to spend a couple months fishing this next summer. Any ideas? One central area would be the Duluth area. There is one campground we've stayed at several times. It is Ogston's RV Park off of hiway 53 on the NW side of Duluth. I'd plug in the link, but the link icon is not working right now. FHU with gravel pads but little shade. Plenty of space between sites. Their ponds have a variety of fish for the kids. There are several campgrounds on Island Lake just north of Duluth on Rice Lake Road. Good walleye fishing with Boulder Lake next door. Two Harbors, just about 20 miles north of Duluth on Hiway 61, has a new FHU campground on the "north" side of town. The sites will handle big motor homes. Lots of campgrounds with nearby fishing.Re: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here! Most gasoline prices are at $3.49. Prices have been dribbling downward over the past month or so. Diesel prices vary from $3.75 to $3.88+.Re: Minnesota to Florida via the SmokiesI suppose we'll see you up here during our summers. Cooler weather ya know.......:BRe: Showing my RV to prospective buyersWe will be selling ours via the consignment route. Due to my medical condition I just don't need the hassle. The DW and son have cleaned out the motor home. A sad time, but that's life......Re: HWY 2 West of DuluthBe aware there is bridge re-construction where part of hiway 33 turns east to I35 at this time.Re: Campground Question Big_Blue wrote: Definitely not a good customer friendly business practice. This past weekend, I made a reservation for an RV park near the event I was going to on Saturday. Drove in Friday later afternoon and was easily the biggest rig in a seasonal enclave. My reserved site had a fire pit in the middle/roadside that limted access. Also, it was a sod site v a gravel pad. I had visons of my heavy rig sinking, or at least spinning, leaving ruts while throwing chunks of sod at adjacent campers. We got a refund, made a reservation at the local KOA and drove off. Not all campground owners get it. How was the Air Force Museum? Worth adding as a travel destination? The AF Museum is well worth the time. Plan on several days for walking through the exhibits if you are an airplane lover. We only spent a day since we were on a time schedule at the time.Re: WA Wildfires - Road closuresWell, these fires will clean up many years of forest fire tinder. This is a by product of not allowing the forest to "clean itself" every few years. Then allowing the loggers in to clean out the salvageble trees. It always "looks like hell" for a few years until the new trees have grown enough to cover the burn scars. I remember passing through Yellowstone a few years after a big fire. Lots of new trees growing helping turn everything green again.
