Pin weight would be less. That's the debate that always comes up... Jack weight would be different than pin weight because of the lever effect. My point is that with the jacks down, I'm weighing the TOTAL weight of the trailer. Then the weight on axles. doing the math tells me that what's not on the axles, has to be on the pin. The trailer doesn't weigh more because it's sitting on it's jacks vs if you had a tripod under the pin. Total weight would be total weight... correct? You are correct.Re: Clear Cauking NHIrish wrote: I have been trying lexel clear. I have used geocell products and did not like them. Lexcel is very good stuff. It's by a company called BT RV Innovations. Since messing with my sewer hose is my least favorite job and usually my LAST memory of a great camping trip, this intrigued me.... Tom, I have a Pivot EZ on our Excel. I love it. Makes dumping a breeze. Really saves time and storage. Especially handy at dump stations. If I bought another 5th wheel, I'd install a Pivot EZ.Re: Best chocks for auto leveling system?I use pair of rubber wheel chocks from Harbor Freight. I have done it multiple times. Works great.Re: Auto Levelers, Wheels off ground on one sideIf you feel better with 4 tires contacting the ground, do whatever it takes to achieve it. Some of us do not care. I've used my rig heavily for 3 1/2 years and we primarily camp at state parks with unlevel pads. I have no concerns or worries if two tires are off the ground.Re: Auto Levelers, Wheels off ground on one side jerem0621 wrote: drfife wrote: If one side has tire contact to ground, the lateral movement in wind will be minimal. Try again. Less than ONE year ago to a member of this forum...his Solaire TT blew over at home in the drive way..with the wheels on the ground and the stabilizer jacks down... The tremendous forces of aerodynamics can not be under-estimated... I do envy the self leveling system though. Thanks! Jeremiah Like you said, even with all the stabilizers and tires on the ground the trailer flipped in extremely high winds. They would have met the same fate if one side of tires were off the ground.
