I agree with fly 4 fun.. lower the hitch if you can .. my hitch is a curt and it has three hole to adjust height . .. mine is set in the center hoLe which give about 4 inches clearance between the rail and bottom of the nose.... The trailer is slightly high but not enough to cause problems....Jim2007 I also have a curt hitch and it has three adjustment holes. It's already lowered all the way.Mor Ryde Pin Box QuestionOur new Keystone Hideout has a chucking problem and lots of folks have recommended the mor ryde pin box... I am very interested in buying one, but I am already riding a few inches high with the hitch at the lowest point and the factory pin box all the way up. Can anyone tell me if the Mor Ryde pin box would raise the trailer even more??? The axles are under the springs so flipping is not an option....already there. Thanks in advanceRe: Planning to tow 7500 pounds with Ram 6.4...ok??We picked up the camper yesterday. Loaded it with our "stuff" so are probably around 8,200 pounds or a tad more. We traded in a 6000 pound camper. Only went about 50 miles but everything went great. Truck had plenty of power, truck handled the wait fine and even with a cross wind the whole rig was very stable. The 6.4 is surely pulling a little harder so the mpg will no doubt drop some from our prior 10+ mpg, but I think we'll be fine. We are about 3-4 inches nose high. The dealer raised the pin box all the way up, and the hitch is all the way down and the axles are under the springs from the factory. So I guess it's as level as its going to get. I'll post an update after our next trip from Illinois to southern Missouri. Thanks for all of the positive replies.Re: Planning to tow 7500 pounds with Ram 6.4...ok??I guess I should apologize for the confusion. I should have noted that I have a 2500 with a 6.4 hemi. The 1500 only comes with a 5.7. SorryPlanning to tow 7500 pounds with Ram 6.4...ok??We bought a 2016 Ram 4x4 crew cab with the 6.4 gas motor and 3.73 rear end gears. We have a small older 5th wheel (6000 pounds) and are looking at a new Keystone Hideout 5th wheel with a dry weight of 7500 pounds. I'm relatively certain that I have enough truck, but I would like any opinions that folks might have. Thanks in advance....Re: Getting Axles Flipped - any potential problems??Thanks for the replies. I'm good on the bed to camper clearance at 6-7"..... My wife is concerned that we are "re-engineering" our camper....might be top heave, might bounce, brakes might work different, etc. She sees lots of potential issues. We did note at a campground that a few big fifth wheels apparently came with the axles beneath the springs from the factory, or they have been flipped. I guess it will all work ok......Getting Axles Flipped - any potential problems??We just bought a 2008 Cherokee 5th wheel and towed it home with my new 2016 Ram 4x4 6.4 gasser. The towing experience was wonderful, though the camper only weighs 6,500 pounds. Truck is a fabulous tow vehicle and I would certainly recommend it. The problem is that I am about 8-9 inches nose high in the front!! I towed 400+ miles to get the rv home, but I know this is not good. I expected some swaying or worse on the trip, but all went well...surprised. Anyway, I am getting the axles flipped next week for $425...reasonable I think. I am wondering about the problems this might cause. I know lots of folks do the flip, but I am concerned about any negative results. I already raised the pin box almost all the way up (one hole left), and gained an inch. So, I have another inch there. Also, I have a Curt Q16 slider lowered all the way down. I'm assuming I'll get 5 inches out of the axle flip and another inch from the pin box, which will still leave me 2-4 inches nose high. I guess I'll be towing a little nose high but I am at a loss at to what else to do.... Any advice is certainly appreciated...thanks in advance.Re: Fifth Wheel is Nose High- what issues am I facingcertainly hope so....thanksRe: Fifth Wheel is Nose High- what issues am I facingThanks for all of the replies..... Having not had this problem ever before, do I need to anticipate any big problems getting the 5th wheel home with the nose that high??Fifth Wheel is Nose High- what issues am I facingI bought a 2016 Ram 4x4 2500. We went from Illinois to Wisconsin (7 hours driving) to pick up our used 2008 5th wheel. Well, the trailer is about 7 inches nose high and I was able to raise the pin all the way up and gained about and inc or a little more. I have right at 6 1/2 inches between the bed rails and the bottom of the trailer.....so, good there. So, even with the drop of the truck when hitched, its still going to be nose high...ugh Never having had this issue before, I'm not sure what I am in for....and advice would be appreciated. I may flip the axles when I get home...400 miles away. I was going to buy a 4x2 truck, but opted for a "great deal" that gave me the 4wd for free...ugh! Please help!!
