On leaving air up bags, slides in then jacks up. That must be something new for Newmar, they were always level first then slides. I'm thinking maybe the full wall slide has changed things from the old days. My 2015 Dutch Star instructions says to leave aired up, don't level first, deploy slides. Same as Ro"n"Joe. I believe this instruction is there to protect the full wall slide. Yes it's backward to some but that's why you follow mfg's instructions. I'm 8 years in following Newmars instructions & no issues.Re: Weigh Station ?? JRscooby wrote: Two Jayhawks wrote: I've been all over the lower 48 with class A's for close to 30 years now. Who the truck said they are likely to chase you down? What I say is if a LEO is having a bad day he can decide you should of stopped, and chase you down. And once that happens, you will be out time and money proving you did not need to stop. OTOH, if you are unsure, pull in, the worse that happens is they tell you to leave. If my pickup might be expected to stop (All vehicles with trailers for example), I will let them look at me. Oh I see what ya did there with the word "truck". Cute! Do me this please, don't quote me anymore. I've been on this forum too long to be thrown off over that kind of silliness. Much appreciated.Re: Weigh Station ??I've been all over the lower 48 with class A's for close to 30 years now. All weighed well over 10K & have never stopped at a weigh station. While that's nice to know it's not easy for many of us to get. Yes of course you can take averages from each axel and then refer to your inflation chart to get proper inflation.Re: Does your slide interfere with any operation.....Our opposing slides are deep but still leave an aisle to use the kitchen & get to the half bath. She makes trips to fridge for pop or snacks & sometimes uses microwave & we'll use the half bath but we don't "use" the kitchen with slides in. When the weather is nice we have parked & did picnics outside. Otherwise we wait until we have docked at a CG to enjoy a meal.Re: Gasser guys and gals ...why not a diesel ?Diesels cost more and cost more to maintain. Anyone that says different is spinning it. I do DIY and spend about $500 per year on supplies only. And not talking about tires or house batteries. Replaced starter batteries (2) this spring @ about $125 each, gas coaches have one battery. Fluids & filters (not including air filter) for ISL & 10K genny about $350 every year alone. Add def filters @ $50 each & air filter $150 each which I do every two years. Air dryer element $60 every 3 years. I've had to replace a air bag already. Many other ticky tack expenses also. Maybe I'm not the most careful shopper for my parts so others may do better sourcing. But a diesel simply costs more to maintain than a gas coach period. Also my ISL is not a large engine I had slightly higher costs with the C12 in my last coach. Many DP owners are not DIYers & spend one heck of a lot more than $500 per year. I'm just now replacing the OE house batts (8 230 ahc flooded). I don't need to muddy the conversation with that but many diesels come with larger battery banks than gas units.Re: Air compressorsSorry this isn't very helpful but why does it have to be "quickly"? Surely you never have to add more than a few lbs. right? I have a 150 psi cheapy portable from Lowes, I use 120 psi in steer & 90 in drive & tag. If I ever have to add it only takes a minute or two per tire. I would keep it as compact as possible to save basement space & just be a little more patient but that's just me. Is it possible your current unit isn't working properly?
