He ventured over to FB a few years ago and that was the last i heard. Hope he’s still kicking around. Rick Re: New Truck Camper Forum Comments We made it to the new site! I’m not opposed to the change and kinda like it. Everything seems to work out for the best! Re: Rieco Titan 2500# jack is binding.......Good Luck!, I’ve had to replace two different RT jacks on my TC in three years due to them binding and seizing up. I never had a problem with my previous RT jacks on my old TC so I’m pretty confident it wasn’t operator error. Take the power head off and make sure it runs freely when plugged in. If it does its your jack. Mine would start to burn up the power head plug as it would draw so much current trying to operate the jack. There is no repairing the acme thread/screw or large control nut on the inside of these jacks. They’re crimped together with the outside housing. I’ve taken them apart with a cutting/grinding wheel to try and repair with no success…, Good Luck! RickRe: Replacement awning fabric for a 2012 Lance 855S camperI have replaced both fabrics on the rear awning and the slide-out topper, and they were changed for fabric style, color change and a small rip. I was able to order both on-line thru Carefree of Colorado and the removing and install of the new ones were very straightforward and easy. Good Luck, RickRe: part three of the broken frame saga. RVing is one of those basically unregulated industries where folks who have no business getting behind the wheel of something that isn’t just a normal passenger vehicle have free reign to be as dumb as their pocketbook or credit score allows. There’s a reason that 10klbs is the magic point where commercial vehicles and combinations begin being regulated by the USDOT. And it’s because people who have to take 3 attempts to put their Prius into a normal parking spot and still can’t get it centered, shouldn’t have the right to just hop into a vehicle or combination weighing 5-20 tons and just drive by “braille.” :B :B….I couldn’t have said it better myself!….Stay safe out there everyone!Re: Quality of new Arctic Fox TCWe’re on our second 1140DB. The first one was a 2008 and we had zero problems with it. We traded that one in for a 2018 and build quality on this one is just as good. Check the factory sealing around all the outside lighting, inside the propane compartment and refer compartments and you’ll be fine as far as any delam problems. Friends just ordered a 2022 1140 and were told it’s 7 months out. Good luck on your search! RickRe: Arctic Fox RoofI’ve had two AF 1140DBs with 400 watts of panels on each. Use double sided sticky tape to set your brackets at their locations with two pan head 1x10 SS screws in each bracket. Installation is fine anywhere on the roof, just keep in mind a walking/access path during install. Put self leveling Dicor around all brackets and screws and you’ll be fine. All my panels and components were purchased thru AM Solar (this is how they install them)…..I’ve never had a problem or a leak anywhere due to my installs. Good luck!
