I want to use my Dish this winter in Florida and I'm from Tennessee. Any problems? ThanksRe: Towing on the Blue Ridge Parkway? We've traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway several times over the years from Cherokee NC to Front Royal VA and found it well worth the visit. Our motorhome was a 34' Pace Arrow towing a Toyota 4 wheel drive. The most problems we had were from the folks trying to see it in one day. Just keep your vehicle topped off with fuel, the fuel stops are few and far between. We enjoyed the Parkway so much that we've also traversed it 3 times on our motorcycle. Enjoy your trip!Re: air conditioner quit again redhooker wrote: Unfortunately the RV air conditioners have gone from questionable quality to terrible quality in the last 10 years. On 2 coaches I have replaced 4 in the last few years. They have gotten so bad that Newell actually takes them apart and rebuilds them before installing in their coaches due to a complete lack of quality options. Funny to see a million dollar class A tag axle with 2 chinese ACs that cost less combined wholesale then the toilet inside. The RV market is ripe for a premium parts manufacturer to spring up as I too am tired of replacing the junk on our fiver. $800 is a lot of money-but I would pay significantly more for a quality unit that came with a 5 or ten year warranty. I agree with you redhooker, We have a 2014 5er and we are on our 3rd Dometic 15k unit and it will barely keep the inside temp at 78/79 degrees when it's 85 outside. We have had no trouble getting replacements it's the 150 mile roundtrip journey to the dealer to get the work done.Re: Any Snowbirds in a holding pattern due to storm flooding? We sat in East Tennessee waiting to cross the Smoky Mts and down the coast. Today (Sun) we elected to go I-75 thru Atlanta and I believe everyone else did as well.Re: Carefree awning electric motor replacementIll appreciate that. I didn't know what side of the Buick the window was on the right or left. It said right drivers side, I think it should be left drivers side if its here in the states. Thanks.Re: Carefree awning electric motor replacementSaf215, Do you have a part number for the motor. You mentioned it was the right front driver's side window. Should that have been LEFT front driver's side? ThanksRe: Best Cost-effective FW Dealer in the EastI've bought several 5 er's from Northgate in Knoxville, Tn and Ringgold, Ga and always got a fair deal. Great folks to deal with.Trip to SeattleDW and I are planning a trip to Seattle from Tennessee. We're going to journey to Omaha, Rapid City, Butte on to Seattle. We're looking for some info on road conditions and good things to see or not to see. Many thanks, Tom.Re: Life expectancy of RV Air ConditionersI have a 2014 Bighorn with Dometic a/cs and spend the winter in Florida and the A/Cs run almost constantly. The 15K living room unit has been replaced 2 times. The original lasted about 1 year and the replacement lasted about 4 months. The 13.5K bedroom unit is still doing Okay. So I guess your longevity will depend on the manufacture. The Dometics are from China....Re: Opinions on the Ford V-10 Motor PleaseI had a 2001 V10 tow vehicle and that generation of engines had some issues with spark plugs blowing out because of not enough threads to hold them in sufficiently. I'm sure Ford had fixed that problem in the newer engines. I now have a diesel tow vehicle. It might not hurt to ask that question on the Ford V10 forum: www.ford-truck.com/forums/forum49.
