Sometimes even if I drive through a shady area in the middle of the day with even bright sunshine my headlights will turn on. Had it checked out and was told everything checked out normal. Kind of annoying because all your displays dim when the headlights turn on. They will turn back off when you get back out in the bright sun. I think they should make those sensors to not be so sensitive. Anybody else have this issue? Is your windshield tinted by any chance? That will drastically affect how the auto headlights work.Re: Do we have a pickup glut already? TurnThePage wrote: I've finally accepted that it will be much cheaper to drive my current pickup into the ground, repairing as needed along the way. I don't like it, but I'm not paying the BS prices they're asking these days. And I'm not holding my breath waiting for this glut to have a positive impact. I think this has always been true. Trading in every year or three is an expensive lifestyle. I typically keep a truck 12 to 15 years and get everything I can out of it before buying another.Re: Truck starts on its ownPop the hood release and see if that doesn’t disable the remote start. I believe most factory remote starts are disabled by the hood switch to protect service techs from dumb customers.Re: Safety: Microwave Fire! Food instructions often say to cover with a wet or dry paper towel depending on what's cooking. Yes, the problem was not the paper towel. There is no issue with covering food with a paper towel in a microwave. I’ve never put a paper towel under a plate but see no problem with that either. The issue here was entirely due to running the microwave empty. Anything on the loose piece of paper was subjected to all the wattage and quickly hit ignition temperature.Re: Diesel Ram Owner Forced to Scrap Truck !DEF doesn’t have anything to do with reducing that puff of smoke. DEF is used to reduce NOx emissions which are completely invisible but still harmful to the atmosphere. The factories that make the stuff are also highly regulated and monitored for their emissions to the land, water, and atmosphere as are the trucks that haul it. So no, using DEF does not increase overall pollution. It may, and probably does increase overall energy usage.Re: Truck ScalpingSuppy and demand forces at work. Dealers were paying more than new vehicle prices to get trucks on their lots to sell. Now they have to sell for even more to make a profit. As mentioned above, the only way to get a reasonable deal cost-wise is to place an order and wait your turn in line.Re: Will a 3/4 ton do Cummins12V98 wrote: Grit dog wrote: MFL wrote: Grit dog said: "Cool thig was, no warnings, no timeouts, just straight up hammertime!" If you used same screen name, they saw you comin! Lol...with your rep, they knew a reprimand would just prolong the inevitable. You are more appreciated here, sarcasm maybe, but with a nice touch! Just being on delay here, adds anticipation, we have to WAIT FOR IT! I disagree with you sometimes, but only when you are wrong, and I am right! Lol Jerry Wouldn't have been a fair contest if I was wearing camouflage! So did you encounter "Smoky Wren" ? Very pathetic group of moderators. I’m going to say he didn’t. It looks like SmokeyWren hasn’t posted on that forum since September ‘21. May not even be among the living any more… I never dealt with him on the IRV2 forum but he used to be pretty helpful on one of the old Ford truck forums back in the day. It was a diesel site and he left when he switched to a F-150 EcoBoost IIRC.Re: Tongue weight limits and wdhThis thread reminds me of a commercial I watched a long time ago showing a small car without rear wheels towing a trailer. The picture below is not from the commercial (it’s from eyershitch.com) but shows a couple of vintage cars configured similarly. It’s caption indicates the tongue weight. The magic of a WDH! Re: How to find tow rating of an F150?Who said anything about the ratings sticker being removed?Re: Insist dealership check vehicle under the exact same conditionsIn your other thread you said, “At certain speeds, and only when the truck (in signature) is heavy with either people, cargo, or the TT (tongue weight per Jayco is 470 dry), the truck has an 'almost-too-low-and-too-deep-to hear' rumble that lasts until the truck gets either above or below the 'problem' speed....it happens at around 10mph and again at around 35 mph..” So it seems to me the dealer really isn’t at fault for testing with a load in the bed since that was one of the things you said caused the vibration. Deep rumbling when truck loaded (with cargo or TT)
