I am stuck getting the 6 ply because they don't make an 8ply in my rim size 14". I sure hope they last long :)Re: Need new tires...help? brirene wrote: Here is a recent thread discussing the Carlisle Radial Trail RH. Difficult to find any reports on problems with them. Yes, they're made in China, but if one is paying attention you'll find very few reports of problems over the past few years with those either. I think the "China bomb" issue is mostly history, or old stock. Awesome to see! I am getting even closer now to making a decision. I just need to call my tire place and ask if they have the RH. Thanks :)Re: Need new tires...help?On a FB group I belong to people are liking their Trailer King tires.Re: Need new tires...help? lukenick wrote: Steeljag wrote: I just replaced mine with Carlisles. It is difficult to find a 14" tire not made over seas. We were starting our sixth season with the original tires ( so called China bombs) and two weeks after returning from the Keys, and while parked in the RV garage it developed a large budge on the door side front tire. I've read a 100+ posts about replacing them at four or five years, and now I am a firm believer! Parked out of the sun light, routine tire pressure checks..........and I was lucky it seperated while parked, and not on the interstate two weeks prior! Good luck ! What were the original tires and how do you like the Carlisle's? Actually I just read that Maxxis are made in Taiwan. Crazy huh? How do you like your Carlisle's?Re: Need new tires...help? My only choice is Maxxis.Re: Need new tires...help? darsben wrote: 5 years old does not make the dangerous, neglect over the 5 years makes them dangerous. Did you keep them inflated properly. Did you cover when not in use. Did you avoid pinching them on curbs etc. Did you use the as intended and are not overweight on your trailer tires. How far do you go a year? Local? Long distance? If you took good care of the tires the should be good for a year or 2 more easy. This TT is new to me. A 2010 Jayfeather 26'. The original owner kept them covered at all times, and traveled 10,000 miles with them over the 5 years. I just bought it last August and have gone camping about 4 times since. I stay locally mostly. Over the winter I covered them with black trash bags but now I have the appropriate covers on them. I made sure to inflate them when I picked them up from storage and will check them again when I tow next. I do not overload my TT.Need new tires...help?I am coming up on year 6 with my factory installed Goodyear Marathon tires. They still look great but I am worried about a blowout after reading about it all over the internet and the dangers of trailer tires over 5 years old. So after calling a bunch of local tire shops I have narrowed it down to a few choices. Opinions please.....which ones will be my best choice? My tire size is 205/75R14 Carlisle, Goodyear, Vitour, Towmax, or Autogrip Thank you!Why can't I see photos? This topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 28856751
