If you're asking for ways to do it, you could: 1) wire them through the camper's umbilical cord if the cable has enough free pins available 2) if your truck has a tow package, you could make a harness to connect the new lights to the truck's trailer plug 3) if you didn't want to do any wiring, you could pick up a set of magnetic tow lights and attach some steel plates or brackets to the camper to attach the lights to and those lights would plug into the truck's trailer plugRe: Backing up made easySure seems like a total gimmick to me! It looks like you still need to figure out where you want the trailer to go and how to guide it there yourself. However, instead of using the fine control of the steering wheel to guide your trailer, you're going to move your hand down to a coarse control rotary knob where very little movement equals a wildly spinning steering wheel? Exactly how does this thing help? No thank you Ford.Re: Another camper noob question - window to truck? We have a slider on our truck and a removable window on the TC. We made our own "boot" to go between the truck and TC. It's a fairly small opening, but it works well for our pets and they use it quite a bit while we're driving. I have no idea what a replacement window would cost for your truck. It might be something you could find in a junk yard if not aftermarket.Re: Anyone make a "decent" enclosed trailer?I've got a Wells Cargo 7x14 and it's charcoal gray also. It looks just like yours does in the sun. I've been thinking I need to figure out some way to read the wrinkles and use it as a thermometer! I suspect the warping is less on a white trailer. Dark colors absorb more heat probably causing the aluminum to expand more resulting in greater distortion. Edit: I find it interesting that your side door is on the left side of the trailer. Was that an option?Re: Overnighting-while-Urban, or OUIf you're trying to urban stealth camp, why not just paint an orange stripe down the side of the rig and hang "u-Haul" signs on it when you park?Re: What campersThe Lance 1050SRe: DRIVING WITH WINDOWS OPEN?We leave our Fan-Tastic fan open (MaxxAir vent cover installed) and will occasionally open a side window when traveling on paved roads to allow some air flow that way. We have a boot installed between the cab and TC which allows us to open the cab windows for additional airflow. The animals get some benefit from the truck's HVAC when they're in the TC via the boot as well. To keep the pets hydrated we use a “Road-Refresher” water dish so there is always water available for them, no spills so far.Re: COG QuestionsActually, I believe Lance's recent brochures state "Center of Gravity is measured from the front of the truck bed towards the back."Re: What do you call this thing?I guess I’m old, but I wouldn’t call the foam rings or inner tubes a “boot”; donut sounds like a better term for those. The TC “boots” we had on our truck back in the 1960’s and early 70’s were made of vinyl and custom made to fit the TC and truck. They required the entire removal of the TC window and truck window. The boot was screwed into the TC and fed into the cab of the truck where it snapped around the window opening. Of course, that was back when our TC windows were at least 2’ wide. We do use a boot now, but the opening is only large enough for our 4 legged family members. When I use a foam insulator around the outside of the boot, I mask the areas where it contacts with blue painter’s tape.Re: WDH question ???I was starting to looking into these myself, because I'd like to tow a car trailer too. Curt has what appears to be a decent setup how to video on youtube. It sure looks like their setup has some pressure on the bars when they're done. Do you know how much tongue weight you have there? Maybe it's the camera angle, but it doesn't look like your spring bars are parallel to the trailer frame.
