The Freightliner labeled ones were absolute garbage. The RAM were slightly better but even they had issues. Turos, vacuum lines, injectors, electrical, brakes, security system. Basically a CEL all the time. We went back to the standard style E350 Econoline and are now supplying Ford Transit with the large Ecoboost. The new Transit is better vehicle. If someone offered us a free Sprinter as a fleet van I would pass and would rather repower an older 350.Re: Another tire thread! Need some new tires for 15" rimsI need 15"s for my flatbed Hudson trailer. I have used Goodyears on it now that were leftovers from the wife's minivan but the tread is about done and I need to upgrade.Re: Theft: the bad, the bad, and the really badI had a Coleman gas lantern stolen from our campsite several years ago. Around here there are tweekers that frequently use campsite as places to liveRe: Hot water tank temperature- pressure relief valveI just installed a Hybrid Heat element in our 6 gal Atwood. After I de-winterized for Easter weekend I was testing it out at home. The pressure relief valve was weeping pretty bad. I thought the valve was bad so I installed a new one. Sure enough that one leaks as well. Until now I thought it was the additional Hybrid Heat element, I would never have guessed the air pocket and expansion. Thanks for posting!Re: Has anyone camped at Pirateland Family Camping Resort in SC?Thanks for the replies. We have been here since Thursday of last week. We got site 95 not far from the beach at all. The site is not graded and we ended up in a small pond lol. Rained most all of Sunday so the site was pretty soaked. It could use some maintenance but all and all not too bad. Seems like the cart thing is pretty well known. Yes they are flying all day but quite at night. We have not had a chance to try out any other sites nearby. I plan on making a trip down to the campground down in Huntington and see. That will probably be our next place we stay when we come back.Pirate Land Campground Myrtle Beach SC, BOOM We made it!Just now winding down, kids asleep and after a long day of packing, hitching, hauling, setting up I am done. Got here at dusk so did not have any time to look around. Looks OK from what little I did see. We are booked until Thursday so I will post my 2 Penny's worth. Happy Easter Weekend!Re: What are the pitfalls of camping in a Hybrid? Anmacc2 wrote: Closing up in the rain. Living in South Florida that was the deal breaker for us. Forgot that one. Here in NC we usually get the 6pm thunderstorms and the morning dew. Pack up wet then need to dry out. The only benefit they have is weight and size but with slides and ultralights it's moot. If I was worried about size and weight I would just get a pop-up.Re: What are the pitfalls of camping in a Hybrid?#1 noise. Like a tent you are going to hear everything. #2 temperature. On those really hot days the sun will beat on the canvas and will raise the temp. Same for cold days. #3 resale. Canvas is more maintenance and needs to be replaced over time and use.
