All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Roll Call Alaska 2018Well we only have about 4 weeks till we start rolling NW to Alaska from NE Florida. I stated before we have an ever changing route and will not be heading up the the Great Lakes, instead we will take a more direct route. Crossing into Canada via British Columbia then points north. It is going to be a very busy 4 weeks for us. Next week we are traveling to our last BlueGrass Festival this spring (we work the festivals for a promoter). Then we service the Class C, check it all out, and start loading STUFF. Why yes we will have our signage in the window. Hope to see y'all on the road. Let's get this GRAND ADVENTURE ROLLING!!!!!!Re: Roll Call Alaska 2018Well folks in about 2 months we (WIfe, Me, Mia the wonder dog, and another couple) point the front end of our campers to the north and start this caravan on this GRAND Adventure. The ever changing route we take now has us heading north from NE Florida to the eastern shores of Lake Huron to visit with friends for a few days in Southampton, Ontario. Then travel the northern shores of the Great Lakes, pick up the Trans Canada Highway, Canada 15, and head west. We will angle towards Alaska when we get closer to the left side of the country. Yup it will be approximately 5737 miles one way to Anchorage where we tour for awhile and start the return trip. We must be back in the home state by early September for Mama's 90th birthday, but that is really the only hard set must be there schedule we have. So keep an eye out for us and wave or say hi if our paths cross. Yes there will be a "North to Alaska" sign in the window. Why yes we are starting to get pumped and all prep done for this trip WOOHOOO!Re: Roll Call Alaska 2018We are in the middle of planning our trip to Alaska. Us and at least one other couple are pointing the noses of our class C's to the NW and taking off in May 2018. Leaving from NE Florida/SW Georgia areas with a trip time frame of 2 maybe 3 months. Yes retired is grand...... We do have a list of must see items along the way and as little of interstate driving as practical. Looking forward to new sights, new friends and grand adventure. Although it may be hard to find bear stray here in Florida, I am sure Amazon will be my friend .... Best John, Bev, and Mia the wonder mini-wiener dog
