I have made some additional mods on my Shadow Cruiser. Previously I added a fireplace. I improved this by adding vinyl mosaic tile to the sides. I made the fence post sewer hose storage and use the gutter to support the hose in use Added drawers under the dinette. Closed And open In the bathroom Extend a Shower and Oxygenics shower head Towel bars And a toilet paper holder Finally, bringing this back to the first post, my daughter also likes a fan when sleeping. Got this fan at WalMart, uses 8 "D" cells or a 12 volt adapter. Added outlets to the light over the sofa and lower bunk Made up a cable between the adapter port on the fan and the outlet on the light. You can tow it with a car, but then you get this. My parents moved from Indiana to California in 1949 pulling a trailer all the way. It was large enough for them to live in for a few months, so not too small. I am fairly certain my father had a Dodge at the time, probably a straight 6. We have had the Shadow Cruiser for over 2 years, 76 nights of use and 11,000 miles towed. We have had no problems with the trailer in that time. The awning failed early, but that is not the trailer and was repaired under warranty. There have been some axle issues with these trailers, you will need to confirm the correct axles are installed. Also, push the dealer to replace the tires, the factory tires are bias ply (not radials) and don't last. The trailer is light weight, so some compromises are made. The cabinets are made with light weight plywood and screws don't hold well. The chassis is not a robust as some would like. I pull with a Silverado with a 4.8l V8, tow package, rated 6300 lbs. Uphills the RPMs get high, but overall I have not problems. In my research on Cruiser RV I found this Youtube video of the Australian Importer touring the Cruiser RV factory. The importer name is right there. Anyone interested in any of the Cruiser RV products, take a look at this three part video. Actually, anyone wanting to get a look at how travel trailers are built, look at this. Unfortunately you are in Perth. If you can get to Melbourne these guys are importing and selling Cruiser RV products. You could see and touch a few. They are modified for the Australian market, but built on the same assembly line in Indiana as the US market trailers. We have had a Shadow Cruiser for 2 years now, using almost once a month, and have had no problems.166Views0likes0Comments
