We use Direct TV with the HD Slimline dish at home so we can watch and record what we like. For the road we have a standard round dish on a tripod, total investment $40. We then use the non HD style boxes in the rig, an additional $6 per month, per box, which you can turn on and off anytime by calling direct tv so you only get charged when you use it. We keep them on all the time and use one in the garage and one in the guest room. Direct TV will also give you a filter you can add to these boxes so they can be used with the slimline dish so no need for an additional dish on the roof.Re: Fuel stopsWhat part of Nor Cal? We used to live in So Cal and went to Sacramento area and Bay area quite often. We would stay away from 210 all together due to traffic. I hate stop and go especially when towing. I much prefer taking east Hwy 58 across from SR-99 to south SR-295 at Kramer Junction to south I-15. Much easier drive when towing. If coming down I-5 there several options to going east over to Hwy 99. Fuel is easy too. There is a Pilot just north of Bakersfield. A Loves in Tehachapi, Pilot at Kramer Junction (although more expensive) and a Loves in Hesperia where 395 meets I-15. If you must take the 210 stop in Castaic and refuel as stated above. I do not know of any RV friendly places between Castaic and the truck stops in Ontario!! Good Luck and be safe!Re: PullRite15k superglide hitch with bed saverWe have had the Pullrite Superglide since 2006 and am very happy with it. I have needed the slider a few times and am glad to have it when it was needed. There are a few things to consider. It is very heavy, so if you plan on taking it out of the truck when not in use, have a system to assist you. To unhitch the rig from the truck, you have to release the tension caused when towing so once the landing gear is set put the truck in Neutral to allow it to "settle." My wife is all of 120 pounds and she can unhook the trailer so its not a big issue. This hitch does not have a normal kingpin type set up where the trailer swivels on a friction plate. An attachment is bolted to the trailer pin which fits into the hitch. The swivel point is actually in the hitch which allows for the auto slide function to work. This can be good and bad. Good that without a superglide hitch a thief cannot back up to your trailer and drive away. Bad if you need tow assistance froma friend, they can't tow you either. There is an attachment that can be purchased which hooks to the trailer and allows a regular hitch to tow. All in all, I recommend the hitch. Good Luck, be safe!Re: Galley Grey Tank Location - 2014 Montana 3402RLWe have an Everest and it also has the second tank. I have found, reading through the RV forums over the years, many Keystone products have this set up. It is the first thing I now think of when someone says thier sink seems to be stopped up and they just drained the grey water tank.Re: Superglide InstallWe have had the superglide for about 8 years, do not need the slide option all of the time but when we do, we really do. I had it installed for $300 bucks at an RV dealer which is no longer is business. Good Luck and enjoy.Re: Traveling to San FranciscoI would have to agree on the KOA in Petaluma for a few reasons. There is so much to see and do in the beautiful part of the country and Petaluma is a great place to start off from. It is only an hours drive to San Fransisco, Napa/Sonoma wine country, Bodega Bay, and the John Muir Redwoods. The weather there is also a bit more stable than in the City. For those that have never been to San Fransisco, It is a neat place but always take a sweater or light coat. The weather can change in a heartbeat and get very cold, even in the middle of August.
