Finally just using Brita pitchers at home. Current trailer has limited counter space and Britta filter took up too much room. We installed a line filter at the hose. The water smelled and tasted weird. So we installed a filter under the kitchen sink. Installer said that people who put in the drinking water spigot regretted it due to extremely slow flow. Ours is hooked up to cold water tap. Thinking maybe I should flush out the water hose?Re: In search of large family BunkhouseWe have a 2014 Keystone Passport 3290 BH. It has a bunkhouse with two slides. The beds are each twin extra-long futon style. They fold out to King size on th floor. There are two cot-width bunks above rated for 300 pounds each. However, they are really too narrow for anyone that weight. By the time a boy is about 120 lbs., they've outgrown the cot-width bunks. Th eliding area has another slide. The sofa is the jack-knife kind so it's easy to set up. It says it's full size but really is just a short, wide twin. We have had Dh and I on the main queen bed, My mom (90) on the sofa, and 4 boys (age 13-23) in the bunkhouse with beds opened and two dogs in kennels. We had plenty of room to access bathroom at night. In morning, the beds got folded back up (with sheets still on) and made back into futon couches with kennels stacked in middle. The guests put their gear on the un-used bunks.Re: Ridiculously simple mods -- let's see 'em!Hung over-the-rod canvas shoe shelves in the wardrobes. Works great for t-shirts, shorts, etc. Attached battery operated puck lights on ceiling in wardrobes and cabinets to see contents better.Re: Ridiculously simple mods -- let's see 'em!Our former camper, Keystone Outback 320 BHS, had a fold-out couch in the bunkhouse. We replaced it with a futon. When all the kids needed a break from the heat and played video games, we wanted to find a place to store the bedding. Used an under-the-bed storage bin (without the cover) to store It. In our new camper, Keystone Passport 3290 BH, we use the same under-the-bed storage bin in the back storage bay to hold the pup tent and all the bags from chairs and screen tents. Makes use of that hard to reach space.Re: Bunk bed rails for young kidsWho would have thought that DS13 would fall out of his bunk in the bunkhouse. He did the first night out and he knocked off the "college-dorm" bed tray and his fan. Landed on top of them! He was a mighty sore boy the next day. Says he won't sleep up there again without a rail. Funny thing: he never fell last summer. Anyway, the Ikea bed rail looks like it could work. We live a few miles away from a store so it'll be easy to get. Question: is the rail easy on - easy off? I'd like to have one available for the drop-down bunk to put on when we have guests. I don't think it would work if it was a permanent install.
