How low to the ground was the cut?Re: Ham Radio enthusiasts CWSWine wrote: I held a Ham ticket that expired in the early 90's and my call sign was KA7FKZ general class. Do I have to start over to get renew my ticket or is there some provisions for Hams with expired tickets to renew. You are well beyond the current "grace period". However, the FCC is considering giving permanent credit for passed exam elements. No telling if/when this will be approved. In one USFS cg in Michigan, they had a big pile of slabs from a sawmill. Probably a good way to get rid of the slabs in those days. The AEP Recreation Lands in Ohio have free firewood....and free camping too. At least they used to have free firewood. I just looked and no longer see it mentioned.Re: Santa Fe National Forest CLOSEDAny explanation for the closure? Cost cutting? Fire? ???Re: There is not many places like this left JnJnKatiebug wrote: I remember when it had wood boards for a surface. They popped when you drove across. Looks like it still does, they just laid blacktop over the boards. We still have several operating covered bridges in the county here, plus a couple that are closed but preserved.Re: Ham Radio enthusiastsFor those of you with rigs in the camper, I assume most of you run off of an a/c power supply? Does anyone hook the rig directly to the camper batteries?Re: Ham Radio enthusiastsWA8JXM, 50 years this summer. But I've never used a rig in the camper and it's been many years since I had a mobile rig in the vehicle. I mostly operate 40/80 CW these days. KenRe: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Took mine back to the tire shop. They put the wrong valve stems in with the new tires and they leaked each time I checked the tire pressure. (They put Equal in for tire balance and did not put in screened valve stems.) 150 mile round trip :( I'm not a happy camper. Fortunately, on our trip, I took along the shop compressor. I'm not sure where I would have found tire service when even getting cell coverage was a 15 mile trip. KenRe: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Had two new tires installed, NOW maybe it's ready for the road. We plan to leave on our first trip with it today.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today??? millerak49 wrote: Pulled the 4 coach batteries out, moved it to the winter parking spot and put the cover on it. So sad, so early :( LOL. We just finally (?) got away from 90 degree days! What did you do with the coach batteries, put them in your snow machine? ;-) Ken
