I did it again and put the rear pins in the wrong way, causing me to miss the connection by a 1/4inch. Thanks for the reminder, and hopefully I don't do it again. RainmanRe: Slider HitchThanks for the web site on the manual ill read up on it.Re: Slider HitchThanks everyone for there advice, this hitch came with the truck when i bought it 3 years ago.never needed the slide until move to a new storage spot and had to cut it hard to get in, that is when i hit my truck.the hitch slides fine with no trailer on it,I guess i could take some weight off by raising it some my concern would be that i could move the front legs a little and damage them.I think my next step would be to grease the slide rails more i am only using WD40 now.my model is 70540 same as that last post that they mentioned to get the pins in the right way which is so true I did that once thanks againSlider HitchHello, campers i have a 16k Reese manual slider when getting in tight spots i like using it to avoid hitting my truck. My problem is when i go to disengage to slide back it will not lock into the rear position seems like the pin and the hole is not lining up.is anyone else having this problem and any advise. There not kidding when they say numbers don't lie thanks again.Re: buying a used 5th wheelthanks for the help,I definitely was looking at this the wrong way.I would just look at the dry weight did not think about hitch weight.I do not like being max-out with the weight I am going to pass on the coachmen and look for something with 15% hitch weight. Also i did check that black and yellow cargo tag on the door it said 2630#.
