All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Land Between the Lakes TN / KYWe camped at Hillman Ferry a couple of years ago. We loved the Land Between the Lakes area. We did check out some of the dispersed camping areas and saw many with travel trailers and fifth wheels. Some places were just fields and some were actual camping "slips". As mentioned before, you need a pass from the ranger station. Here is a link to my review of Hillman Ferry: Hillman FerryRe: Tishomingo State Park in MississippiWe camped at Tishomingo in 2013. We loved the trails and the CCC buildings. The campground itself is not one of our favorites but like you, we went for the hiking and it was along the Natchez Trace Parkway. Here is a link to my blog about this campground. Tishomingo State ParkRe: Memorial WeekendWe are mulling over the prospect of camping at Sardis Lake (Mississippi) not far from our house. There is a COE first-come, first-serve campground there and we may go the Wed. before and try and get a shady spot. The state park campground that takes reservations and is next to the COE has been booked for a while. Wouldn't normally go on such a busy weekend, but will be starting a new job soon and this may be my last chance for an extended weekend camping trip.Re: camping MemphisHaving been a Memphis resident for 35 years who now lives south of the border (in Mississippi), I second all the cautions about staying IN Memphis. It's a shame, but the area surrounding Graceland is quite dangerous. Memphis has exceeded Chicago in it's homicide rate. Beale Street can be a fun place, especially if you like blues. Just be mindful of your surroundings and stick to the well-lit and patrolled areas.Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~ Site 44, Pickensville COE campground along Tombigbee Waterway, Pickensville, ALRe: ~Post your campsite photos here~ Site 108, Montgomery Bell State Park, Tennessee Creek behind the campsite, Montgomery Bell State ParkRe: ~Post your campsite photos here~ Site 9, Choctaw Lake Recreation Area, USFS campground near Ackerman, MS Choctaw Lake.
