I just replaced my original one that was over 20 years old with a new one. Have yet to use it, but if it's anything like the first one, I'll be happy. It is very compact, but cast iron.Re: Snow!!!I have had two failures to launch from upstate NY and will try again on Friday. Although it can be beautiful I am looking forward to sunny Florida.Re: Alaska or bustI'm green with envy, and I know that's not right. I have only been once, but I am itching to go back. My own feelings regarding reservations are different than some, we were there at the end of May and into June and we did not make a single reservation but had absolutely no problems, even at Denali. We were two women alone and had no security issues. Since food is more expensive than the lower states, we planned our meals and shopped from our list. Certainly it is more reasonable to shop at the chains such as FredMyers & Wal Mart. We were only there 3 weeks, but we did one major shopping trip with pickups for random items, This does take careful planning. Wishing you a wonderful and safe trip.Re: Air Conditioner? Thanks again.Re: Air Conditioner? Thanks again for your help folks. Not sure what I'd do without you.Air Conditioner?Since folks were so great about answering my last question, I am going to get really brave and show you guys how little I know. I am on my 7th camper and have never had air conditioning until now. My question - is 50 amp required to run the air conditioner or can it also be run on 30 amp? Yes I am embarrassed to ask this question.Air Conditioner?Since folks were so great about answering my last question, I am going to get really brave and show you guys how little I know. After reading some of the comments on surge protector's in the Tech area, I am even more confused (I'm entitled, I'm female). I plan on purchasing the Progressive PT30C. My next question, is do I need to be concerned about anything other than plugging it in? I also liked the gentleman's suggestion about the 30 amp cord to keep the plug out of site for security reasons - is this a safe thing to do? Once again thank you all.
