What DirecTV receiver do you have? Some receivers have a "TV Out" connector on the back as well as an HDMI. You can run a cable from the TV Out to your bedroom or use an existing cable already in place.

If you are worried about the parking pawl, you may want to drive up onto the dolly, lock the emergency brake, secure the tire straps securely and then place the vehicle into park. If the straps are tight enough there is will be little if any pressure on the pawl.

FYI...in order to watch one show while recording another your will need a satellite dish that has two feeds...as well as a dual LNB to allow recording from one satellite and watching from another
