Inside the park the only CG with hookups is Fishing Bridge RV park. For Grand Teton I have always stayed at Gros Ventre at the south end of the park and 10 minutes from Jackson. They now have sites with power.Re: lock for the waste water valves.Since they are not in a compartment you would have to fabricate something. In the mean time consider taking the handles off, they unscrew, and coat the rod with grease. Maybe that will slow them down a bit.Re: planning a trip to yellowstone, road driving help neededIt's very busy in YNP in the summer and parking will be a challenge no matter what type of vehicle you are driving. The bigger the vehicle the more difficult it will be to park at the many thermal features. No problem at Grant, Old Faithful or Mammoth. As far as roadside camping, that is not allowed inside the park. Do you have reservations at a campground in or out of the park? If not you should make some ASAP and consider yourself lucky to get a space. There are a number of first come first served CG's in the park but all CG's report full by 8 to 8:30 AM. I think the idea of renting a car in W. Yellowstone is a good one. There are many CG's in town and if you don't mind an additional 15 minute drive you can stay at Valley View RV park in Island Park ID.Re: Splendide combo not dryingOur 2100xc clogged with lint and slowed the drying process. One other clue was very low airflow coming from the outside vent. Pulled the machine out of the cabinet and took it apart to find the clog and remove it. Works great again.Re: Weighting The Travel TrailerYou might consider using a professional weighing service to weigh your rig. You will get individual wheel weights, axle weights, side to side, tongue weight, before and after weights on the tow vehicle which helps determine if the hitch is set right. The company is RV Weigh and they are in Indio CA. They do a good job and the computer report is well worth the cost.Re: things to see in ColoradoWe spent 10 weeks in CO in 2014 and loved it. Stay west as mentioned in the above posts and be sure to bring a Jeep. If you don't have one, buy one now :B, or rent when you get there. Some of the best scenery and historical places are not easily accessible by passenger car.Re: Time to replace batteries. How? the bear II wrote: I haven't had any experience running a residential refrigerator using an inverter and batteries. I would expect after 12 hours the refrigerator would significantly deplete the batteries. We have had our 18 CuFt residential fridge for 1-1/2 years and don't have a power problem when dry camping. We shut down the main inverter at bed time, around 10 PM and leave the inverter that's dedicated to the fridge on. If the bank reads 12.7 at 10 PM it will usually read 12.5 to 12.6 at 7-8 AM when I get up. Not much loss as the fridge is very efficient and only takes 1.25 amps of a/c to run it.Re: Time to replace batteries. How?Shut down all power, unplug the RV. If you have solar pull the fuse/turn off the breaker. Take good photos of the wiring and if at all possible label the wires. Remove the ground (-) to the coach first then the other negative wires off the bank. At that point you should be safe. Clean all the cable ends with a wire brush. Reverse the process to install the new batteries and spray the terminals with anti corrosion treatment (found at auto parts stores). The last connection is the main negative/ground wire to the RV.Re: Engine cooling QuestionYour coolant tank may be starting to crack and disintegrate. This is common on this configuration. Keep an eye on yours. It's awkward to replace, but you can do it if you are handy.Re: Las VegasThe closest full hook up park is Duck Creek RV park on Boulder Hwy. It is between Gibson and Russel. Relatively close to Costco, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes and almost every other store type you can think of. It is a Passport America park. It's a parking lot with some landscaping and tight spaces. Very clean and well maintained, has a pool and is next to a park.
