I prefer the long box for the ride and in many cases a long box has a larger fuel tank which I also like. With that being said, my short box trucks all did great to!Re: Beartooth HighwayI drove it a couple of years ago in a 26' class C with no problems but I have driven large vehicles all my life and have driven in the mountains all my lifeRe: Bye bye, diesel, hello ecoBoostI have the exact same truck except a crew cab- you will love it and it will tow your trailer great!Re: Moab Jeep RentalWe have used Moab Adventure Center in the past and good luck.Re: winter challenges...AGAINRV Fridges don't have a compressor, they work off an ammonia mixture that circulates in the cooling unit by heat. They actually remove warm air from the inside of the fridge versus sending cold air into the fridge. In very cold temps like yours the cooling unit can gel up and not circulate, therefore it is not removing the warmer air from the fridge any longer. With some RV fridges, once this happens the fridge may have to go through a reset procedure. Some will just start working when the outside temp warms up and the cooling unit is not gelled up anymore. Putting a light bulb on the cooling unit can help keep it from gelling up as can blocking the vents, although I am not a fan of blocking vents because if you it gets warm out and you forget to remove the blocking it can burn the cooling unit up. Another option is to use heat tape on the cooling unit that is thermostatically controlled to come on at about 34 degrees. You can get that at almost any hardware store in our area but I don't know about in the Southern states. Good luck!Re: Montana fires & driving conditionsIt's not problem. I am in Helena. The smoke sucks but visibility for driving is good. No road closures on I-15.Re: do all dealers lieA incompetent or dishonest salesperson does not necessarily make the "dealership" dishonest. In my opinion, sales is a very honorable profession and I have made a good living for my family doing it with many return customers. However, I have made some mistakes over the 27 years of doing it as I'm sure all of you have at your jobs to. There's a lot to learn selling RV's and it doesn't happen overnight as the RV company's and truck company's change things all the time. Dishonesty is unacceptable and should be reported the dealership owner or manager first. An honest mistake is going to happen. By the way, I have had many dishonest customers over the years as well, but that doesn't make all of them that way.Re: Brand New Member CJW8 wrote: mark1228 wrote: I would look at Carbon. Correct, and since Raptor is made by Keystone, Carbon is to. :) Carbon is part of the Raptor divisionRe: Brand New MemberI would look at Carbon. I know that I can go to just about any new car lot, buy a vehicle, drive it off the lot, and the odds are that I won't need to take it back for any warranty repairs. Sadly, that's not how it works when purchasing an RV. You are pretty much guaranteed that you will find multiple things that need to be fixed. I keep hoping that Honda will decide to build RVs . . . . . Wow, you are way luckier than me. EVERY new vehicle I have ever bought has had multiple recalls and warranty issues. My 2004 MGC Duramax was towed in to the shop 9 times in 3 years. My 2013 Altima was in the shop for warranty or recall 6 times is 2 years and 25k miles. My 2015 F350 has been in for warranty 3 times and still has issues with 12k miles on it. My take is that ANY product can and will have issues, otherwise you wouldn't need warranty
