We'll then spend some quality time enjoying Kenai Peninsula, Denali, Fairbanks, then head south at a somewhat leisurely pace. I'm having fun doing the research and hope to have a great time. To all of those with experience who share on this forum; thank you! Your insight is valuable and appreciated.Re: Our Honey Bucket ConsoleWe had a similar situation in our old tent trailer. My wife named it the "cat box". This seemed to make it more esthetically acceptable.Re: CA DMV Registration SnafuNow if you can just get DMV to read that and follow it......HAHAHAHA! I actually took in a copy of the code and after a stressful huddle among the DMV employees the supervisor decided to follow the code! I spent my career enforcing regulations, it was great to see them follow the rule of law, not just defend a previous mistake. Thanks DMV!Re: CA DMV Registration SnafuI found the answer! (at least in CA) This is a quote of the DMV pamphlet, General Registration Information, section 1.105 (CVC 671): Second Stage Manufactured Vehicles When a vehicle is completed by adding a structure/equipment (second stage) to an incomplete vehicle (first stage), the VIN of the first stage is used for registration purposes; however, the year model, make, and body type are determined by the second stage. Example: A 2009 Ford chassis has a 2010 Fleetwood motorhome body attached. The registration would correctly show 2010 Fleetwood motorhome with the 2009 Ford VIN. Thanks for trying to help, it encouraged me to look farther.CA DMV Registration SnafuI'm the proud owner of a new Leisure Travel Van Free Spirit. My question to you, the Sprinter van is a 2014 but I have a Certificate of Origin for the class B motor home as a 2015. I know this is not an unusual situation, but so far DMV wants to register it as a 2014 Mercedes Van and I would prefer it be registered as a 2015 Motor Home. Does anyone know anything about this issue? I can't go to the dealer for help, I bought the unit out of state. Thank you for your helpRe: Sprinter 3500 chasis in cross winds and general stabilityI'm the proud new owner of a 2015 (2014.5 MB) 3500 Leisure Travel Van FS-22. Just went to a Texas dealer where we purchased it and drove to California, about 2,000 miles. This our first experience with a motorized RV, we've had lots of trailers, tent trailers etc. I'm really enjoying the rig, handling has been stable and comfortable, corners well but the wind does require me to pay attention and make corrections. I'm running the recommended 61 lbs. of pressure in all 6 tires. I'm thinking of upping that, max is 80 psi. I would appreciate your experience and opinions. Thanks
