All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsStill lost here I'm still lost on this new format. Can I come to the site and find (new posts)? That is all unread or looked at. I would like to see what's new in all the forums without individually going in and out of each forum. SolvedRe: Fort Bragg CA: one of my favorite weekend getaways My wife spent Summers there as she had family. Some of her greatest childhood memories come from there. We dated there as I chased her about Northern California. We married 50 years ago this year and spent lots of time camping in that area. Seventeen miles North is a campground right on the beach where we spent many Thanksgiving. Cooking a turkey in a Dutch Oven over an open fire was an adventure in itself. The Turkey and Dumplins the next day warmed our bellies, and hearts, and made lots of campground friends. At the time it was called Wages Creek I think. We will be traveling to Ft. Bragg one way or another this Summer. Thanks for bringing back such great memories. Re: Suburban water heater replacement issue I use my dremel tool with a cutoff blade to get the clamps off. Warming pex with a heat gun or hair dryer can make it flexible enough to install in some places. Re: Is this the original forum RV.net? What was your login, not your password but your username. If it had any spaces, try putting an underscore where the spaces are. One of these. _ Holding my shift key down and hitting the key that has the - and the _ thingys. Re: residential refrigerator locks We use those large rubber coated "tie"wrap type things. They go around the handles and one twist keeps them secure. We use them on a few of our cabinets as well. You have to search a bit in lowes or home depot to find them. Our refer is a side by side. A bottom drawer freezer may not work with them. Re: Love Seat Swap Options Just getting back up to speed on the new forum and I am sure you have resolved your issue already but wanted to add a suggestion for any future readers. I tried a recliner in my small loveseat area and it worked but was very intrusive. I tried a Euro chair which was not the answer. I finally built out the area to include a Bosh apartment sized dishwasher. It is just as tall but about six inches narrower. It gets run every day. Along the rest of that space are three cabinets with pull outs. One is a pantry, one is for the garbage can, and one is for our full size mixer and food processor. The extra counter space holds a convection oven, utensils for cooking, and a place for a desk calender and input/outgoing thingy. Can't remembe what you call them. Then the sofa sleeper was replaced which was just a torture device to teach those folks that thought going with us would be a treat to stay home or get their own RV. After lots of research we found the Love Sac modular furniture to work perfectly. We have a large foot stool which you might think is intrusive but it actually is not and two people can share it. The Love Sac can be configured in multiple ways. Take some time to look it up. They have bases that can be used for storage which is a huge advantage. You can have some audio system option as well. USB chargers can be part of the installation. The covers come off for washing. We have had our new couch for about 6-8 months now and absolutely love it. You do not need to buy armrest for either end. Or you can buy just one as we did and I then built an armrest that would fit the narrower end where one of their armrests would not fit. This homebuilt armrest allowed me to mount a really useful plastic remote control and phone holder. I also built a spacer behind the back to make room for the seatbelts which are still in place and go up through the bottom sections to hold thing in place. The extra space behind gives me room to run power cords and install power strips with usb chargers built in. All in all, the Love Sac has been a perfect fit so to speak. It is not cheap stuff. The furniture comes in separate boxes and is light enough for one person to handle, although a bit awkward. The pieces go through the door easily. The armrests clamp to the bases with some heavy duty push on clamps. No tools necessary. So take a look at the Love Sac site. The site was a real pia and slow so be patient. _3_kidsdad wrote: Hi folks, so I have a 2013 Canyon Cat with the jackknife sofa. It is terrible and I want to replace it. It is on a slide out so I'm concerned with the weight. I am looking at a loveseat recliner with center console. Has anyone done this type of swap? if so, did the loveseat fit through the door opening? Should I be concerned with the added weight on the slide? Thanks. Kids are grown so the wife and I are modifying the camper starting with this then the bunk area. Re: What size of inverter would you suggest if I only want to run the refrigerator and a TV? I agree with a 200o watt one. The smaller ones seem to be much less robust. I have experimented with several in my F150. The factory 400 Watt one is just about useless. It is amazing how well it is designed and installed but far too weak to power most of my stuff and it is not a pure sine wave one. You need to install it as close to your batteries as possible. Installing it in an adjacent area clear of the battery air flow would be best for safety. A battery monitor is a really useful tool. I have two blue tooth devices, one for my F150 and one for my lawn tractor. I can check their status in seconds. You don't want to hammer a lead acid battery by running it down too far and too many times, even if they are deep cycle. A 2000 watt inverter won't work as hard as a 800 watt inverter basically and so should provide a much better margin of operation. Re: freshwater pump maddening problem I have had to use a garden hose on the low point drain a couple of times to get all of the air out of the inlet side of the pump. The pump sucks on the inlet side where an air bubble remained. Air compresses, water does not. After the pump stops the air pocket under suction seems to pull back through the pump and the pump recycles. And this has happened with brand new pumps. Re: New or unread posts I would never have guessed that. Thank you very much. Re: New or unread posts Let's pretend I am no longer on the start page. How do I get back there? I'm struggling a bit here. Hopefully these dumb question will help others.
