All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Thousand Trails membershipsWe bought a one year zone pass a few years ago for I think $350. It covered Washington, Oregon, and I think a few parks in northern Ca. We certainly got our money’s worth. Several parks alone the Oregon coast . Certainly not as nice as KOA parks but for the price we were happy. We only gave it up because we only used about five parks over and over and wanted to try different parks not covered.Re: Mice in RV living quartersPeppermint oil, not extract, worked for me. Get some glad sandwich zip lock bags. Use a hole punch and punch several holes in the bag. Soak 10 or so cotton balls in the oil and seal in the bag. Put in all the areas that you see mouse activity. I did this one time maybe 5 years ago and have not had a mouse problem since.Re: Need Information about Pacific Coast Highway TripJust so you know, you’re not going to escape the tourists in late Aug/Sept. Very busy time of year on the coast.Re: Need Information about Pacific Coast Highway TripFirst off, May probably would be too early given the current situation and also the weather. Aug. would be a better bet. North to South would be best for better views. I would start by heading down I 5 to hwy 20 toward Anacortes. Take 20 to the Port Townsend ferry, stopping at Deception Pass to check out the views. Port Townsend a very historic town, worth checking out. Continue down 20 to Hwy 101. Head West to Port Angeles. Drive up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic NP. Continue West on 101 to the Hoh rain forest. Continue south on 101 and cross into Oregon to Astoria. Lots of cool little towns along the coast. Seaside, Cannon Beach, Depoe Bay,. Great lunch/ Dinner spot in Depoe Bay, Tidal Raves. Watch whales right from your table. Newport, Florence, Bandon all worth a stop. Continuing south into Ca. thru the Redwoods. If you’re into Victorian architecture a side trip over to Ferndale west of Fortuna is a cool little town. At Leggett hit Hwy 1. Glass beach in Fort Bragg is worth a stop. Mendocino is nice. Then just follow 1 all the way down. Bodega Bay if you’re a Hitchcock fan. Muir Woods near San Francisco. Monterey, Carmel, 17 mile Drive, point Lobos, Big Sur,. Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, waterfall right into the ocean. Hearst Castle. And that’s as far as we have gone on hwy 1Re: front landing legs motorYup it is normalRe: SACRAMENTO RV park recommendations?Sac West is nice. Not cheap but only about 4 miles from downtown.Re: North Whidbey Rv Park @ Oak Harbor,WA enblethen wrote: I do not believe Deception Pass has any full hook ups! You must add the Discovery Pass to the rate. You don’t need a Discovery pass if you are camping there.Re: North Whidbey Rv Park @ Oak Harbor,WAHave never stayed there but see it when we go to Deception Pass State Park. Looks like a nice clean park but spaces look close together. If you’re looking for more of a outdoorsy experience Rather than just the standard concrete pads next to each other, the State Park right across the street is a much better choice although they might already be booked up for Aug.Re: Portland Oregon Parks questionFamily friends relocated to Portland and did the same thing you want to do. They stayed at the Janzen Beach RV Park on the Columbia River. They have monthly rates but not sure of any time limit. I know they were there for a few months. Nice park on the Oregon side about five miles west of the airport. Depending on time of day could be a very short commute. Close to shopping and restaurants also.Re: Question about removing black tankYou might not have to remove the whole underbelly material if it’s what I have under mine. Mine is a corrugated plastic material. When I had a broken remote dump valve line repaired they just cut a flap in the underbelly and then taped it back up. No problem. You would just have to cut a bigger flap to expose the tank. Shouldn’t be that difficult to remove tank. Hooking up new sewer line would be easy. Only issue would be the hole and if new toilet would match up. If not, perhaps one of those old fashion wall mounted tanks if wall could support it.
