And they go with the burgers & hot dogs for sure.Re: Class A and medicine chest itemsCheck out all the plastic ware available at Dollar Tree. I have several lined in the medicine cabinet - 3 in one direction & another lined in front. Makes for easy cleanup if anything does leak. I also use plastic cups (that I collect from restaurants we visit along our travels) to hold electric razor; another to hold toothpaste & toothbrush; etc. The cup keeps the razor from getting a fuzzy mess everywhere. I do like the idea of using champagne boxes to hold stuff! Except my champagne doesn't come in a box!Re: What is your favorite Christmas dinner in your RV?We have spent many Christmases with another couple. For our Christmas meal we do fondue. We have Guiness cheese fondue with all types of veggies plus some roast beef for dipping. And then dessert is chocolate fondue!Re: Chattanooga Holiday Travel ParkWe have stayed at CW Chattanooga so many times I can't count. Sometimes it's because we got delayed on the road & can't make the rest of the way home. Or when we're having something done to the rig. This cg is reasonably priced. If I'm going to pay more then the park better offer more. CW takes no reservations. You can call & see if they have space but they won't hold them. You go in to the store to the cashier to rent the space. The cashier will give you a map of the park. The park has a pool (seasonal) bathhouse & laundry. Some of the sites have cable. The park is somewhat tight spaces. The park is fenced against its neighbors but open toward the CW main building. Close to I-75 but not much road noise. 1968mooney posted the link to Hamilton Co park. We drove thru there. This is a destination park that we plan to go to & stay. Just a beautiful, peaceful setting. It is not a park for an overnight as it is not convenient to the main hwys.Re: BurgooGrew up in Kentucky - burgoo was made with whatever meat is handy - it could be chicken as listed in the op's recipe or rabbit or beef, etc. But it is mainly a mutton recipe. I've been to Moonlite BBQ & have had several helpings of their burgoo! Very similar to Brunswick Stew enjoyed here in Georgia where I live now.Re: When and where to find RhododendronsJust a short drive from Franklin, NC is Georgia Mtn Fairgrounds in Hiawassee, GA. Beautiful Rhododendron Gardens! Here's a link for you... http://www.georgiamountainfairgrounds.com/2015-events/hamilton-gardens There is also camping available for you!Re: Keeping food from shiftingGlad to see you've already been out in the new rig! As you know, we have the res frig & the 378TS too. Here's what we do - which is several already listed already. The shelves are lined with the same type matting you can use on the cabinets. If something spills, the mats are easily rinsed clean. I've saved the 6pack bottle cartons & re-use them in the frig - put condiments or whatever will fit & use the carton to brace other items for travel. I bought plastic baskets that I also use to keep items from toppling over. It also makes it easy to pull out when looking for something. And DH is all about filling out any space on the door with cans of beer! I had the frig bars left from our previous rig - they wouldn't work on the res frig - not wide enough. So I had to figure out other ways of securing the food. I really like the frig - controlled temp - ice cream stays frozen; plenty of ice; & when we're gone for months at a time, we have plenty of room. And! When we visit New Mexico I have plenty of room for chiles!Re: RV Park Reviews??I just looked at rvpr for info for an upcoming night. It does appear that they are adding details to it as they can. Last week when I was using it the listing of nearby cities just listed them with mileage but no compass point. That is now on there. I use that in case the park I originally looked at wasn't to my liking I can look easily at the next city in the direction we're headed. It appears that TripAdvisor wants to be the end all tourist info stop. There is a review for Vegas RV Park in Las Vegas, NM, NOT NV. The person who put it on did NOT stay there - they were in a hotel in NV & it is NOT for the rv park. So, now this park which is no more than a dusty field alongside some storage units has a 5 star rating with TA! I did see a flag that I clicked and filled in the box that the review is in the wrong place. We went on to Storrie Lake State Park which was even cheaper than the storage lot. We were so glad we did. Sure, we were away from everything but the scenery was worth it!Re: ThanksSo much info is shared here - if DH & I are discussing something about our rig, I can search and find info that helps us out. Someone who has experienced the same issue or fixed something or added a new gadget. And recipes! I enjoy seeing what people are cooking. I'm thankful DH is quite adept at different aspects of maintenance. I'll stick with navigating, cooking & other daily tasks of rv life. :)Re: Selling Class AI'm sorry for your loss. Your hands have been more than full dealing with the estate. And now you have the prospect of selling the rv in front of you. If you consider consigning your rig, perhaps there might be a dealer closer to home for you. PPL is quite a long haul from where you are located. I think I would be like you, if something happened to DH, I would want to continue traveling in some type of RV. I wonder if you could trade what you have now in for what you think you could handle driving & upkeep. If you consider selling privately please be careful using CL or any type of private listing. I live in GA where there has been a number of deaths related to craigs list. Never meet prospective buyers alone. The police depts are recommending that people arrange to meet at the police station. This is recommended if it's just a cellphone or all the way up to a vehicle. I hope to see you on the road somewhere. It'd be great to sit around the campfire & share some stories with you.
