As said put a bit of Teflon tape on the plug to help seal it if needed. Also don't go monkey tight on the plug. I usually install my nylon plug by hand and then about 1/2 turn more. If it leaks just tighten a bit more. Re: Does this electrical box have any value to try to sell on an auction site? It's a replaced surge guard which lends one to believe it has already done it's job and protected the RV from a surge. Unfortunately that means it's probably now dead hence the replacement. I supposed you could strip it down and take the copper wire to a recycling center. But you're probably looking at a few pennies for the amount in there. If it was in my garage I would be sending it to the landfill or hazardous waste center. Re: Wanting a Bidet for my Thedford toilet. I did very briefly consider a bidet in my trailer but I almost exclusively dry camp and I only have a 40 gallon (151.4 Litre) fresh tank so I ruled it out. Re: Wanting a Bidet for my Thedford toilet. StirCrazy I wonder it if it a incinerating toilet. burns the solids and evaporates the liquids. we have those on the shovels at work, they stink and are horrible unless they are meticulously maintained. Can you elaborate on a shovel that has an incinerating toilet on it? I'm sure you're not talking about a hand shovel, and probably some kind of heavy equipment but just curious. Re: Portable Holding tanks If you add a portable holding tank do you have a way to empty that tank? Or are you considering just extending the time between pump outs? As said above do not leave the black tank open unless you want a huge pain in the a-- when (not if) the tanks plugs up. Whether you are using the factory tanks or an added on dump tank leave the factory dump valve closed until black is at least 2/3 full. It's okay to leave the gray valve open the whole time. Though many people leave it closed as well and use the contents of the gray to wash all the black contents out of the dump hose. Re: battery cut off switch Should be on when loading/unloading or using the camper. But if you want to verify which position is correct. Disconnect the shore power and turn on the overhead lights. Flip the disconnect until the lights come back on (Most likely the ON position) From now on leave the switch in that position when loading up and when camping regardless of whether or not you have hookups. Once you are done and it is back in storage flip the switch the other way to disconnect the batteries. When the refrigerator warmed up with no shore power it's because your refrigerator needs 12v for the electronics even if you are running it on propane. So as I said above, leave the batteries connected when you are using the RV. Last thing. Be aware that with no shore power and everything turned off in the RV; If the batteries are connected your batteries will still drain in about 1-2 weeks due to vampiric loads like the LP detector. That is why you need to use the disconnect switch in storage. Re: Fuel pump ? Based of above, I would be pulling the tank next if it was mine. Re: Secondary Transportation Advice StirCrazy Spam Re: Fuel pump ? You're definitely right that it's most likely not the relay but I would definitely check all the easier stuff before dropping the tank. Personally I would see if I can get the meter hooked up as close as possible to or all the way back at the tank. Then take a voltage reading when you have 32 PSI and when you have 10 PSI. Alternatively find a way to provide supplemental 12v power to the fuel pump. I'm betting the voltage doesn't change regardless of the fuel pressure in the system. You say that the pressure drops from 32 to 10 PSI under acceleration. Is that under any acceleration or just heavy acceleration? You said if you shut it off for 3-4 hours it behaves the same as above. Have you tried waiting until it's at 10 PSI then turn the motor off and right back on? Does the pressure revert back to 32 PSI or is it still at 10 PSI? does the system need 3-4 hours to regain the 32 PSI? Ultimately if I had to hazard a guess I'd say your fuel pump is on it's way out. Or at the very least the pump pickup sock in the tank is plugged up. They are available on Amazon. Re: 2007 Thor Mandalay 40H power step stop working Ditty is right on the money. We used to have Doug who helped many people fix issues like this. Unfortunately 99% of all the regular posters jumped ship two years ago when we went to this new format. If the above link doesn't help resolve your issues you'll have to do a search for all posts by Doug until you find the one you need.
