The trailer is level..ish but only after my dad and I dropped the hitch to the lowest holes for the pinbox. Previous to that it had a pretty good nose dive. This trailer is "1980lb" hitch weight where the 30RK was "~1300lb-ish". No official numbers though. The truck is sitting on the overload springs in the pic. If it squats and raises the front end much, the headlights on low beam will blind the oncoming drivers at night. Definitely, agree. Luckily, we don't have to do much night driving. Most of our trips are only within a few hours. Once the truck is back to 100%, I would feel more comfortable with any driving and this could come into play. Good call :) I was also told (for what that's worth) if the front lifts too much it can cause premature steering gearbox wear.Re: Your RigHad it now for approximately 1.5 months. 2011 Laredo 321BH. It was agreed that the truck bed condition wasn't ideal for companion hitch so we will be putting the goose box on it. -Confirmed it's 50A service with 2nd AC prewired. -The rear blind was removed (was there Thurs but broken). They are going to fix/replace. -1/2 bath faucet is missing cold handle. How? They are going to replace -Tire condition is marked unknown, said they do this for all used RVs. No sign of dryrot, tread looks OK. Prob keep a year or two and replace when we do the TV tires. YEY! not :D -Listened to slides today, sounded smooth and quiet. -Also learned (hopefully) that Laredo also hung the slide walls (width wall, not exterior wall) -They will be going over it again to inspect. I called out one of the vent caps on the roof being damaged/loose. Should know by EOD Monday when we can pick it up. Wait will likely be for hitch order/install though. Excited to take on extended trip over the 4th.2011 Keystone Laredo 321BHS inputSome may vaguely remember we have a 1997 Challenger 30RK which is more or less a project trailer the wife doesn't want to deal with any longer. I've definitely learned a lot with this trailer. We may be biting the bullet on a 2011 Keystone Laredo 321BHS. Unfortunately, new isn't in the cards. We tried for a 2017 Volante 310BH (not comfortable with payment) and looked at a 2016 Rezerve 36DB (too big for this point in life, payment would have been up there too). Tow Vehicle: 2006 F350 CC 4x4 Dually w/TowBoss (4.30Gears) 6.0 PSD Trailer Spec: https://www.rvusa.com/rv-guide/2011-keystone-laredo-fifth-wheel-floorplan-321bh-tr8752 Trailer Link: https://www.freedomrvwi.com/all/31613/2011-keystone-laredo-321bhs I did find THIS for the Laredo 'line' which was from new it appears. I'm wondering if people are still using them and if there are any tips they could offer before we go in tomorrow. I now know after looking the other day, they have rear floating wall.. dislike very much. I immediately thought delam. Hides potential issues. How much 'delam look/sound' is too much? Just don't know whats back there. Aside from exterior rear wall, looks really clean from what little I know. We did a walk through but didn't do a real walk through with trying slides/appliances. Apparently that is a thing you do after purchasing..:/ After reading the rvnet link above, it appears the 2 drain pipes are labeled wrong? Makes sense because we were confused why the prev. owner had personal labels on them lol. Still not sure which is what and why they did 2 drains, makes extended stays with sewer a pita. I'm pretty sure I seen the main plug was 50A, if yes, does that mean it's likely wired for 2nd AC? I've seen different models go between the 30 and 50. Likes- -Looks in better shape than current 30RK -Reviews I could find appear to be good/really good -More family friendly with bunkhouse -Wife likes rear master -1.5bath? (nice to have, not required) -large basement storage -50A for 2nd AC if needed (nice to have, not required) -75G black/grey tank Dislikes- -Front bathroom configuration (not ideal for only dude in the family, but not a deal breaker) -living/kitchen layout (not ideal, but not expecting to spend a ton of time inside it either.) -2011? (would like new but guess we'll have to progress) -Weight? (Within spec of TV but about 1k heavier on dry weight and 2k heaver loaded) -Paperwork said "tires unknown condition" I'm sure i'm missing something from either like/dislike but this is what stuck out. I'll also be asking for the 20K Reese Goose Box and chains.Re: Sailun AT tires on tow vehicleThanks everyone for the replies. Still makes it hard to decide though. If I go with them I will be sure to update. Thanks!, OutlawSailun AT tires on tow vehicleI tried a few searches here and there aren't many reviews out there on the world wide web. These would be for our F350 DRW I'm looking at these SAILUN TERRAMAX A/T 245/75R17 (load range E 10ply) I know the trailer tires are highly praised and just wonder if anybody has used the truck tires. If so, do they get the same trust? Here is the datasheet- http://www.sailuntires.ca/PLT/AT.html Thanks, OutlawRe: The Camper Saga. Opened a can of worms or mice..Pulling the cover down for the power vent. 20170807_204050 New used AC 20170808_182911 Side view installed 20170815_184701 Front view installed 20170815_184729 I did not have to try rebuilding the shroud as my dad (again... :D) found a used one through a local shop for $52. After we wired up the AC and mounted it. I did some more tests. We were having issues with the house breaker tripping (don't know draw already on 20A) before the camper which I'm hoping is a good thing for when we are at the campground. The new AC configuration is: Mid AC (ducted) Livingroom/Kitchen and bathroom Front AC (non-ducted) bedroom And for those wondering, we are still under 13' (12'7" i think it was) as it sits level. Once we get it on the truck, we will re-measureRe: The Camper Saga. Opened a can of worms or mice..Got the AC put up on the roof. The shroud is in bad shape. I'm going to spend a few bucks to see if I can repair and paint it. If not a new one will be needed. My dad removed the tv antenna since the condenser sat right over it's mounting. We left the base plate and sealed the hole. The AC fit perfectly in the fan hole. We did a couple amp tests with the camper/ac and with the "new" ac. We used a kill-a-watt meter for the testing. Camper OFF- Amp- 2.5-2.7 constant Camper ON- Amp- peak 14.8 (including constant) New AC only- Amp- 13.6 (slowly turning up to high) Amp- 24+ (cranked right to high) At this point it was 8:45pm-ish so we called it since we couldn't see anymore. I will do a couple tests tomorrow hopefully. If I can figure out how to run both without tripping 20A, we should be good to go with our 30A. I'm hopeful w could maybe run them on low cool. but we will see.Re: The Camper Saga. Opened a can of worms or mice..A quick update. After our last trip with the "new" ducting. It doesn't appear to be working as desired. For the kitchen/living room, it actually worked quite nicely but I think the abundant lack of insulation is killing the efficiency and once past the bathroom, it was basically nothing. I think the bedroom flow was due to the very limited space to run any additional ducting. As a backup plan, we found an AC we are looking at putting over the bedroom. Yes, the trailer is 30A hookup. Yes, I know we won't be able to run at same time (at least power on at same time). No, we don't have a full plan yet on how we are connecting it. I'm hoping the AC is able to be thermostat controlled since the fan this would be replacing is wired for it.Re: Jerky bounce over bumps, 2005 F350 dieselI musta missed the goose part. We are using a bw turnover goose with a convert a ball adapter. Figuring out placement of junk to bring was key for us. We didn't get to customize our 350 but once past the issues. It's a really nice truck for the price. Good luck and happy camping
