I cried this morning when I saw the post. What a relief. WendyRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Poor baby - you are embarrassing him. :) My daughter dressed Tonka up as a pink pig for halloween, and he ran away and hid from us! Seriously, keep up the good work, you are an inspiration to a lot of us. Good looking family you have there. Happy holidays. WendyRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}I know that many of us on this forum were glad that Ol Fella didn't have wings and flew away when Richard went back to get him. Have to confess that this is the first thread I now go to when I sign on to RV.net and check up on "our boy". Happy holidays all. WendyRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}I have a confession all - I hardly ever used to come to the RV Pet forum, but now the Ol Fella thread is there, I am a frequent visitor, but it seems like every time I come to this thread I wind up crying! I see the pictures of Ol Fella and smile and cry at the sametime. We have adopted another fur kid because of some of the comments on this forum and we get her in 5 weeks. Looking forward to seeing the new pics of Ol Fella in his Christmas bandana. Wendy.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Wow! what a difference from a couple of months ago. He looks so happy. I have to share this with you all, I have been following this thread from the very beginning and because of this thread, we have made the decision to get another dog - but we can't agree, because hubby wants something small and I want a Golden Retriever. Have signed up on their website and hope we are accepted. But if Old Fella ever comes walking down our street, he is welcome in our house any time. Thanks for going back and getting him and all the updates you give us. Hats off to you all and stay well. WendyRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}It's the quiet ones you have to watch! Way to go Ol Fella. Pity you didn't have a camera ready Rich. WendyRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Thanks so much for posting the pictures and giving us the updates. You all look like you are enjoying yourself and having fun. I am so glad that all went well after the emotional roller coaster time you had prior to leaving with Old Fella. I think I can speak for quite a few of us on rv.net (which is something I don't usually do) and that one of the first things we do is check on this thread and see how our "adopted family" is doing. But I need to remember to keep the Kleenex close by the computer - got caught out too many times with tears in my eyes as I read the postings. Thank goodness there are people like you that care about the animals. I have ended up with as many as 6 dogs at one time that just happened to "find us". I was in trouble with the Home Owners on that one. Take care and if you want to start an Old Fella retirement fund (for the dog, not you :)) I'd be happy to contribute. WendyRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Turned on my computer this afternoon, and headed straight for an "Old Fella" update. Thanks for keeping us posted Lynn, looking forward to hearing how things went. Strange how an critter we have never even met could bring tears to the eyes! But then I cried at Bambi. :D WendyRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}My boss just walked by and asked me if I was ok. I was reading this thread and crying so hard. I've also followed this one from the beginning and you and Old Fella definitely have my prayers. He is a fighter, he has been through so much, but I bet he never even imagined that he would have a bunch of people sitting behind a computer typing, crying and sending up prayers for him. Keep us posted, and just remember that you can always take that vacation some other time. Wendy.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Go back and get him please. I have "inherited" all my dogs from other people and I get really put out when I see an animal mistreated. I am glad there are people like you that take care of them. Let us know how it works out.
