Nice to have first-hand observations to make a more comfortable trip.Utah 17 North from LaVerkin to I-15Anyone know the condition of Utah 17 from LaVerkin to I-15? Looks OK on Google Earth, but would appreciate first-hand input. On way from Zion to Great Basin NP. Towing a 30 foot TT. Thanks in advance!Re: Oregon 38 and 138Thanks to all for the information. I'll see you on 138!Oregon 38 and 138Headed from Reedsport, OR to I-5 on OR 38. Drove this route a few years ago and it was great (and scenic) for towing our 30-foot TT. Does anyone know if OR 138 headed South to Sutherlin is as good a road? It would save us some mileage if we could use it. Any information appreciated. Thanks!Re: where to find ideal summer climate in USA?I agree with David Bishop. Look at the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. We live at elevation 60 feet. Highs in the summer reach 80 about five times. Lows in the 40s most of the winter. Freezes every 3 or 4 years with 2" to 4" of snow. Seattle 1-1/2 hours by car/ferry. Haven't seen a mosquito in the 20 years we've lived here. 1/2 hour to the ferry to Victoria on Vancouver Island. We've lived all over the US and many parts of this old world--have NEVER found anyplace this moderate year round. Come visit and see for yourself! We live in Sequim ("Skwim").Re: Glacier NP in Aug/Sept.St. Mary Campground on the East side does NOT take reservations after Labor Day. Usually lots of sites available then. Enjoy the visit!Re: US Rt. 89US 89 is a good road and you should have no problems. We have driven it often in 3 different rigs (37 and 32 foot class A and 30 foot TT). Between Bear Lake and Logan is a bit of an abrupt curvy climb, but nothing above 7 or 8%. Good guard rails and road is maintained pretty well. Logan canyon should be gorgeous this time of year. Enjoy!Re: Looking for Port Angeles Campground/RV Park recommendationGilgal Oasis in Sequim is tight, but will accommodate your rig. Sequim is about 20 miles closer to ONP and the Victoria Ferry than Port Townsend. Sequim also has a Costco if that's important to you.Re: Who makes 30 foot & under Multi-Slide TT's?Blanco1: Arctic Fox 28F has opposing slides in just under 30 feet from hitch to tail. Look 'em up at Northwoodmfg.com. It's an all-weather rig with heated tanks and lots of insulation. More expensive than some, but very well worth it. Good luck with your search!Re: East Glacier NP to Coeur d'Alene, IDkandkbrand: Our preferred route for that leg is to not take MT93 toward Missoula on I-90. We leave St Mary on MT 2 through West Glacier and down 82 or 93 through Bigfork and Elmo. Then take MT135 to St. Regis on I-90. It's a comfortable drive with little traffic after Flathead Lake. We've done it an a 37 foot Class A and our 30 foot TT. It's 230 miles from East Glacier to St. Regis and 325 total miles to Coeur d'Alene. Enjoy the trip!
