Nice campground.Re: I need some help quick - got a job offer coming-need adviceI would say research RV parks in the area to see if they even offer seasonal/full time RVing. Give them a call if your questions aren't answered on their website. As far as size goes, think about that idea of getting a small trailer. You'll be living in it every day for 2 years. If more space is what you need, for $20k you could get a slightly used bigger trailer. Do you plan on RVing more or full time RVing when you do retire? If so, do you buy your retirement rig now?Re: Things to do around Orlando area OTHER than DisneyIt's a hard drive if you're driving straight through. Break up the trip and stay overnight on the way down. We drove from Northern Kentucky to WDW a couple of years ago and stopped in Georgia and stayed the night. I highly recommend Eagles Roost Campground in Lake Park.Re: 2014 Chevy navagation questionI have a 2014 3500 LTZ, and while the nav system is nice to have, I find using google maps on my phone is so much nicer. Maps are real time and are updated, and notify me about construction or accidents on google maps. I believe if I want to update the map on my nav system, I would have to buy a cd and install the update with the latest map version. Those updates sell around the neighborhood of $150-200. OUCH.Re: Parking, getting around on Vegas Strip.Definitely consider the monorail. If you could taxi/uber your way to the MGM, the monorail can take you to multiple destinations between the MGM and the old Sahara (I forget what it's called now). They're nice and air conditioned, and usually not very crowded. We're big fans of Uber. So easy to use and generally cheaper than a cab.Re: Campground w/waterpark in TN, KY, VA, NC, IN, OHWe're also big fans of Lake Rudolph Campground in Santa Claus Indiana. The campground butts up next to Holiday World Amusement Park/Splashin' Safari Water Park. Free shuttle runs from the campground to the park all day and evening.Re: Newport Ky. And the people bridge.Plenty of parking at the Levee and easily accessible from the interstate. I assume you meant you'll be staying at Big Bone Lick State Park, so you'll be traveling I-75 north to I-275 east to I-471 north, exiting off the Newport/Bellevue exit and turning left. The Levee is about a quarter/ half mile off the exit. Lots of parking garage and paid lot parking available. You can also take I-75 north straight into downtown Cincinnati, wrap around Great American Ballpark, and get onto I-471 to Newport, but it's road construction season here in Northern Kentucky, so the first route I said might be better to go with. If German food is your thing, check out the Hofbrahaus restaurant right across the street from the Levee. Pretty cool place.Re: Newport Ky. And the people bridge. The purple people bridge is right next to Newport on the Levee. Lots of shopping, restaurants, movie theatre, etc. (Axis Alley Bowling is a cool place to bowl, and they serve your food to you while you bowl). The Levee is also home to the Newport Aquarium-you have to check that out. The bridge isn't far from Great American Ballpark. Believe me, you'll have NO problems getting Reds tickets. My Redlegs are absolutely horrible this year, but you'll find the ballpark experience is pretty cool. Lots of stuff to do for the kids inside the ballpark. Make sure and check out the Reds Hall of Fame, which is right next to the ballpark. Also check out The Banks, which is a bunch of restaurants, bars, etc. right next to the ballpark. There will be plenty of places to park next to the ballpark if you decide to park nearby as opposed to walking the bridge. Parking will cost you in the area of $15, but the summers get pretty steamy around here, so you may want to think about that walk across the bridge.Re: Florida gulf coast CampgroundsCamp Gulf in Destin (Miramar Beach). Expensive, and crammed in like sardines, but you can't beat the location. With spots that are right on the beach and an extremely friendly staff, it's something you have to try once.Re: cumberland point campground Nancy KYMy friend camps at Pine Crest at Lake Cumberland Campground in Russell Springs, about 30 minutes away from Nancy. Very close to Alligator II dock. He has Verizon and says he gets a good signal. It has a pool and new owners have really made it a nice place to stay.
