Both Canada and the United States use the ASME Section VIII-1 code for pressure vessel construction but Canada has a CSA B51 standard that provides a more restrictive definition of what a PRESSURE VESSEL is. Canada also registers FITTINGS – items that in other countries would be considered too small to need registering. Likewise we also register many PIPING SYSTEMS in Canada. All vessels, fittings and piping systems need to be built under appropriate quality control programs. Reading the Canadian CSA B51 there is a clause stating that type 3 and 4 pressure vessels are required to be recertified every 20 years. Steel motorhome ASME pressure vessels are type 1 tanks which only require a visible inspection so keep clean and painted.Re: Propane tank replacement options? You are absolutely incorrect for Canadian standards. I can not fill my 28 year old ASME tank in Canada. Richard I have no trouble with my 1986 ASME tank, there is a lot of confusion, nobody seems to bother reading gov't regulations. My tank is painted, no rust anywhere.Re: Propane tank replacement options? mcewena wrote: dougrainer wrote: USA ASME tanks are not required for certification. Are you POSITIVE, that Canada requires ASME certification and not just DOT portable tanks which DO require recertification? Doug I’m positive that some fill stations won’t fill my tank. That’s what matters in the long run. Canadian regulations are hard to pin down but I talked to a local propane recertifier and he said he probably wouldn’t pass mine due to the rust so I know I’m on borrowed time with it. Clean it up and paint it, they do not want to see rust. ASME tanks do not need to be certified in Canada. My motorhome 1986, tank is clean and painted. if the guage on the tank is going opaque and hard to see red needle replace it, helps to make tank look good.Re: Underground 250ft runI would find out electrical code in your area for buried wiring.Re: House Batteries not being charged by engine.Battery isolator module in engine compartment???Re: Generator issueWhat year is the generator? The unloaded voltage should be higher. Do you have a frequency setting on your meter to check frequency? The newer gennys have electronic voltage control, I have one from the 80's, transformer voltage control, when unloaded it puts out around 130 volts and around 62 cycles, when I turn AC on the genny rpm drops a bit and then revs up to carry the load. You can measure the volts and frequency at any outlet inside the motorhome. Neutral, white wire, to ground should be 0.Re: Onan 3.6 won't crankOn the wiring diagram it has the jack pin out where you could see if you have 12 volts at the control board. It is kind of strange, no fuse, you might need the control board. If it was mine I'd be inclined when all figured out to add a fuse.Re: Onan 3.6 won't crankThis url will take you to a page for your unit, there is a download section where manuals are, in the operator manual section 4 page 21 there appears to only be an AC breaker. This manual does not have a wiring diagram unfortunately. I did find another manual with a wiring diagram, it showed 12 volts going directly to control board, I'll find it again and post link however while it's for a 3.6 not exactly the same model. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi4x9r9oKT6AhVIhIkEHY01CR8QFnoECBAQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.coloradostandby.com%2Fcummins-onan-3-6-ky-fa-26120-rv-or-commercial-generator-set-rv-qg-3600-lp&usg=AOvVaw2EMtr_TesUTaxXFTnvSi-uRe: Onan 3.6 won't crankThere is more than one type 3.6, the full model number would help.
