And forget about boondocking. There’s not much. If I were from out west, I probably would have chosen a different system.Re: So, you are camping and you want to unload your truck camperThe other side has 2 motored poles. So it’s kinda like a tripod system. (3 toggle switches). There’s maneuverability, but the ground can’t be too uneven.Re: So, you are camping and you want to unload your truck camperThanks! But seriously folks... the swing set comment about the Stable lift is actually hilarious! The more I think about it the more I am borrowing that description. I am always asked at campgrounds what’s connected to my camper. Next time I am simply saying,.. “oh, that... I was driving in to the campground looking at the map for my campsite, went off the road and ran over the swing set in the children’s playground.” LOL.Re: So, you are camping and you want to unload your truck camperAll kidding aside... for my post was just a “jab” If I had a brand new camper with the newest of jacks, I wouldn’t even think about replacing them, unless of course, I had a disability or maybe was getting up there in age and the easy on/easyoff would make it easier. In my case, I needed a new lift system (my old jacks were 40 years old) my rig is older and HEAVY, I spent a ton of cash rebuilding my camper AND wanted a secure stable system to try and add life onto the old school boxy frame and finally, wanted to be able to load up and leave (in 5 minutes instead of hours) without the thoughts of murdering my husband in the driveway.Re: So, you are camping and you want to unload your truck camper NRALIFR wrote: burningman wrote: What do you think your truck & camper looks like, a Ferrari? What? You mean it doesn’t??? :E Ok ok ok........ it doesn’t look LIKE a Ferrari. But, it looks AS GOOD as a Ferrari! :C Now imagine it with the swing set stuck underneath. Nah, that’s not doing it for me. :p :):) Cracks me up when people judge someone else’s rig based on how it looks. So I have a swing set attached to my camper? Does that really make my camper ugly? There are also people who have old ugly crappy campers because that’s all they can afford. Do you cut on their rigs? You rig is really nice... agreed. And yes, I would also agree that it is as nice as a Ferrari. Maybe better. I’m really not into cars. But here is the real deal. Even with my swing set... mine still looks pretty good.Re: Old Campers & Newer TrucksWow... I did not realize that the newer truck clearance was so reduced. Now it all make sense why my 76 TC was so darn tight in the back of my 2017 Ram. Loading was a nightmare, so I bought and installed a Stable Lift to make it a little easier. Learn something new everyday.Re: new project It gets worse before it gets better... but then it become awesome. When we started the rot removal on our TC... we had to replace 1 of the 2 main beams that basically cantilever the cabover. With having to replace that beam, the camper became a “total” re-build. Here’s me standing where the kitchen used to be. Keep up the faith. You can do it.Re: Extra Large with PorchDrove past this TC on the little islands that connect the mainland to Sanibel Island. I am heading down there this weekend. If I see him on the Causeway, I will stop and see if I can get some inside pics.Re: 11 or 12 year old camperAhhhh. I got ya. Missed that one. Fiberglass roof was the number reason why I sought an Amerigo in the first place.Re: 11 or 12 year old camperOriginal fiberglass. Havent done anything to the fiberglass except polish it every 3 years with floor wax. I have owned it since 2013. Yes, I had to rebuilt the frame and interior from the typical leakage around the fridge vent and the snap n nap, in the back. But my point is, there is zero leaks through the fiberglass itself. And what is your reference about a unit that fell apart 12 years ago?
