Metroplex area is just another big city with all it's issues.Re: Highway 84 - TexasThank you all for your input. It always helps, as you know, when pulling these RVs to know the road.Re: Highway 84 - TexasGreat...thank you for the response. We haven't been that way in years!!!Highway 84 - TexasWhat are your opinions? Leaving Amarillo say mid-October going towards Kerrville, TX. Thinking of going South on I27, pick up Hwy 84 in Lubbock, then going South picking up Hwy 83 towards Ballinger, and then I10 towards Kerrville. We see on Google Earth that Hwy 84 is a divided highway, but is it in good shape?Re: Dog first aid kit?Benadryl also comes in a small spray bottle for those pesky bites. You might also have some of it on hand. Google the closest vet in the area you will be in so you are aware of where their offices are located. Copy the latest "shot record" with you so you will also have it. Very nice of you to rescue your new found friend.Re: GOD BLESS TEXANSGod Bless everyone assisting. It's such a mess, but it's a good thing to see everyone helping each other!Re: San AntonioHello! Kerrville is a "little" west of San Antonio, but you want a very nice park, stay at Buckhorn RV Park in Kerrville. http://www.buckhornlake.com/ Very nice and clean. I would not recommend staying in the Sun Communities RV Resort as some have said on this site. They have really let the Tree Tops Rv park in Arlington go down hill. Oh, they've got the "front office" area looking really nice, but the rest of it is in bad shape. We've heard the same thing about the Sun Community park in San Antonio. We've stayed at Oak Wood RV Park in Fredricksburg, it's an older park, but it's clean. We've also stayed at Fredericksburg RV Park in Fredericksburg. http://fbgrvpark.com/ These sites are really close together, you actually step out of your rig and onto the neighbors' sewer connections. We will not stay there again.Re: Going to AlbuquerqueDon't know the route you will be taking, but don't stay in Tree Tops in Arlington. Stay either east of the metroplex or west of Ft. Worth. But, if you go thru Amarillo, the Oasis RV Park is the BEST!Re: Boarding dog in Chama New MexicoIf it has bad reviews, why do you want to risk it? :hRe: Traveling with petsCheck into RV park, go enjoy the sites. If your pet does well in a four to five hour window, that should be plenty of time for you to enjoy the sites. No RV park, no stopping and enjoying unless one of you sits in the vehicle with them and the AC running. Since you show you live in Texas, you should know that no pet can survive the heat within a vehicle.
