Since you are looking at used; probably more important than brand is age and current condition. I would avoid anything with foam core floor construction. I don't suppose there is a directory detailing how the various makes/models are constructed? It would be nice to know who makes an alum frame, solid floor, beefier frame etc.So tell me about your perfect couples travel trailerOver the years our family has transitioned from a Coleman tent trailer to a KZ bunkhouse with rear queen bed slide and now a Keystone Sprinter 5er. The kids are grown and gone, my knees are bad and my wife hates the steps up to the 5er bedroom. Its time for a new to us bumper pull trailer. We've probably spent 50 hrs between the two of us researching used trailers, reading reports, watching youtube videos etc and we're confused as all HECK! We want a couples trailer floor plan, 24' - 30', at least one slide, true queen bed. Sleeping more than the two of us is not a necessity but being able to seat 4-6 people for board games, movies or conversation would be nice. No need for washer/dryer hookups or anything fancy like that. Our budget is maxed at about 15k. We both retire in two years and want to do the occasional 1-3 week road trips. My wife prefers hookups vs boon docking. Our tow vehicle is a 2001 Dodge CTD 2500 QCSB 2wd, factory camper/tow package with 70k on the clock in pristine condition. I'm a diesel nut and have done all the engine/transmission upgrades needed to handle a decent sized trailer (I figure 10,000lbs or so). I'm not opposed to buying a HA or PP hitch. So, for those of you in our situation, what trailers do you have and why do you like them? I'm more interested in chassis/build integrity vs fancy decals and outside kitchens. Our Sprinter has the normal front/rear filon delam and there is just no excuse for such poor construction and I don't ever want to have to deal with stuff like that! :) Thanks LanceRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadHas anyone found this unit in CA yet? I have a Honda that my boys use at one farmers market and I need another 2000w unit for the market I sell at. I'd love to try the Champ but haven't seen it here in CA. I've looked at Costco, Sams Club and the home improvement stores with no luck.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.I posted a while back about not being able to keep my Champ running in the bed of my truck while underway. I'm not sure if the vent line (CA model) is plugged up or not but it now runs just fine for the 340 mile round trip by cracking open the fuel cap a bit. With it running 6 hrs every Saturday on the way to the farmers market and back, this unit should last me how long? At what hour usage do I want to do the valve adjustment? LanceRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. All good suggestions. I'll try the light on an extension cord to see if its a particular motion that causes it to turn off. The low oil sender could certainly be the issue I guess when powering around a long turn at speed like an onramp/offramp cloverleaf.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. Why does my Champion 3500 quit running while under way? I use my Champ to run a small freezer in the back of my pickup on the way to the farmers market. The drive is 6hrs round trip, no canopy over the bed, oil and gas topped off before each trip. I have to stop anywhere from 1-3 times each direction to restart the generator. why is this happening? I've thought of fuel slosh, oil slosh/low oil shutoff but it doesn't seem to be either of those. Any ideas? LanceRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadI'm in need of a generator for farmers market and wanted to give the Champ 2000 a go but can't find one for sale anywhere. Just ordered the Honda this morning................. (: LanceRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. That is an amazing reduction for something so simple and so inexpensive. I contacted the company this last week and they said they'd be ready to take orders by this weekend. Sure enough, its available via their website with PayPal payment. And to think that I was just getting ready to buy cement board, stall mats and foil faced bubble wrap to build an enclosure that most likely would have cost more and done less!Re: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadI'm still looking for the Champ 2000i here in CA or for that matter in the US. I've seen it a few places for 699.00 but I'd pay the extra 220.00 and get the Honda if the price is that close. I just called Champion and they said 6-8 months for Cabelas to have it or Sams Club has it now. I just checked the Sams Club website and they don't even show it listed. Anyone have a update? Lance
