Seemed to work however...now my Tripp Lite 1800 watt line coniditioner now shows a line fault :( I did not before the mod. Any suggestions ? I think I might put it back the way it was.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Man, this thread keeps getting better by the minute !!! Thank you for the step by step instructions that even I can follow. I can't wait to do this tomorrow. The only question I have left is can I use both outlets at the same time & if so is the wattage split between them ? For example should I use the ac on one outlet and maybe the fridge on the other or does it even matter and just use one outlet with a power strip?Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.I picked up a powerpro 3500 a few weeks ago but haven't modified it yet. I've seen the mod from allpraisebob but not the mod from the professor, are they the same ?Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.I think bob b just answered my question from a few posts back.... thanksRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. This might be a dumb question but here goes. I picked up a PowerPro 3500 today . It only has the one 120v outlet and one 240v outlet.I want to use the 240v outlet as an extra 120v outlet. I want to know which is the best thing to do, 1: make an adapter using only one hot leg of the NEMA L14-30 to a female 120v 20amp plug, 2: make another adapter using both hot legs to a box with a duplex outlet one hot leg per outlet, 3: rewire as others have done but this would be my last choice. Also is there any advantage using one option or the other. Also can I use the 120v outlet and the 240v(using as 120v) at the same time ThanksRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.First of all I'd like to thank everyone for this most informative thread ! I want to buy a generator for occasional emergency use. I want to use it to power a 9000 btu window ac , a tv & direct tv receiver, and if possable an 18 cf fridge and a few lights. Locally I can get the Powerpro 3500 at Pep Boys @ $319.00 + tax but it only has the one 120v outlet. What would I need to do with one outlet, use a power strip ? My other choice is the Champion Power Equipment #C46535 Generator 4450 watt peak, 3500 watt continuous. It does havs a duplex outlet. The review back a few pages really got me interested in this one . The thing is I would need to order this one thru Parts America for $299.00 + tax + almost $60.00 shipping . I need a few opnions to help me choose please. I'm a little leary about making any mods , I'm not too good with electrical stuff. Thanks , Jim
