Our 2009 WW FB2100 came with all LED lights outside, except for the right side floods (which have been upgraded to LED). It was strange, all the interior lights were incandescent.Re: Happijak Bunk Mod - are 3 Bunks Possible? loudounrv wrote: msmith1.wa wrote: I think it would work. You would need a set of the brackets that are used for the upper bunks to attach your new platform and drill holes at the height you want it to be. Thanks msmith1.wa -- I'm glad it sounds possible. So, buy the brackets and get them on the chain track. Then, I set the height for the top bunk wherever I'd like with my drill and a few strategically placed holes, right? I've never used the system -- so my assumptions are all coming from a few YouTube videos showing how to raise and lower the bunks. When lowered, what stops the top bunk -- pins in the track? If I want the top bunk to go lower, do I need to drill more holes, or does the track have a variety of holes for you to choose from? Just curious if it's that simple or not. Also, does anything stop the lower bunk on its way down? I've thought about replacing the convertible chairs with a simple platform and mattress (like the top bunk). I'd raise the beds during the day and let the boys use bean bags, or folding chairs. Then I'd lower the bunks at night. To give everyone enough head room with 3 bunks I'm just curious how low that lowest bunk could go. Thanks again! The top platform is held up high with pins thru the chain guides and is stopped on the way down with metal blocks in the chain guides. We got a thicker mattress for the top platform and I drilled a new set of holes to allow for the different height. There was a set of holes already in the guides, but I needed one more set a bit lower. I adjusted the spacing between the platforms by moving the stop blocks in the chain guides. Our lower platform had a convertible couch which made a horrible bed so we built a whole new platform box similar to the top one for a permanent bed. The lower platform has minor height adjustments on the brackets and with some modification probably could be made to go even lower. I think a 3rd flat platform could be made for the top, you would just have to play with the pin hole and stop block spacing to see if it would work for you. I beefed up the platform to chain bracket attachments because they were bending a bit, the spot welds weren't holding.Re: Newer 21’ Models Birdie1025 wrote: I love the layout of the Ragen FB2100 (2006 for example) and looking for that layout in a newer yr. Does that exist? It doesn’t have to be the same manufacturer..just looking for that layout. .... We have a 2009 WW FB2100 which I think is a very similar layout to the 2006 Ragen FB2100. When we were looking in 2015 that floor plan was only available from 3 manufacturers from 2006-2009. We haven't seen anything like it since - queen bed rack in back, huge bathroom in front, kitchen/fridge behind bath, benches between kitchen and beds. The bath door in our WW is a pocket door - love the pocket door. I know it's a WW, but the tongue has the thicker C channel and we have not had any problems. 2009 was the last year for WW and I think our FB2100 is a bit different, the box measures 23ft, plus the tongue. I think they used a 23ft chassis and built the more popular FB2100 floor plan on it to use up the chassis.Re: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today??? 1L243 wrote: .... So I orderd a 7 Way 8' harness with junction box that is color coded. .... I love those junction boxes, it makes trouble shooting wiring a lot easier. For trailers with 4 electric brakes the wire gauge size is sometimes just adequate. Ours ran one wire from the 7 way to the LF brake, on to the LR brake, crossed over to the RR then ended at the RF. I ran a larger gauge wire for each brake from the post in the junction box to each brake. Now if I want to test a particular brake I can pull its' wire for testing and I know each brake is getting a good voltage.Re: Happijack Double bed platformWe built a bed platform to replace the Happijack sofa in our 2009 23' WW. We reused the angled sofa brackets which on ours were the same as for the bed. Angle iron and plates were used to connect the bed platform to the Happijack brackets with large flathead bolts. The bed platform was made using 3 sheets of plywood with 2x4s sandwiched between spaced 3.5" apart. The frame was made of poplar boards stained to match the cabinets. It was a big project, well worth the effort and has been working great. I think the whole project cost around $300 not counting the really nice queen mattress we now sleep on. I think we got $100 for the sofa from a guy who restores trailers. PM me if you want more info and pics.Re: does hitch weight of bumper-pull TH reduce when loaded? RVpullinGuy wrote: Yes, loading a bumper pull trailer full of toys in the back will reduce the tongue weight. How much will depend on a few things already mentioned on this thread. Physics is physics. x2. The point midway between the wheels is your pivot point. Any weight added behind that point will take weight off the tongue. It's basically a teeter totter. The distance from the pivot point makes a difference. On our trailer there is 17ft in front of the pivot point and only 8.5ft behind. 50lbs of propane tanks on the very front would need 100lbs at the very rear to balance. A weight at 4ft behind the pivot point would need to be 212lb to counter the propane tank weight. Our 7klb trailer's tongue weight is over 1000lbs. If I move the two 6v batteries (72lbs@14ft=60lbs@17ft) from the tongue to the under the rear (72lbs@7.5ft) it should take 90lbs off the tongue weight.Re: Surge protector TxTwoSome wrote: Don't you need access to the unit to read voltage? If you have it in cabinet is this not a hassle? I just bought one and was just wondering. If you need to see system voltage often take a look at a Voltage Test Tool DM55-1 ($6 on ebay) that you plug into any 110v outlet. It can also double as a night light. You can tell when the surge protector "did it's job" because the power will be out for 2.5 min to allow time for the AC compressor pressure to bleed down if it was on.Re: Electric Bed/Sofa brodieb wrote: I have 2005 Gearbox that has the two queen electric beds in the back and I am looking for a place that sales the bottom bed that converts into a sofa.... We had a Happijac bottom sofa that folds into a bed in our WW FB2100. We found the "bed" to be useless. The foam cushions were so uncomfortable it really didn't work as a bed for us. The cushions did not provide an even flat bed. One cushion was thicker than the others. The previous owner had a custom foam pad made that helped a little, but still not very good. The couch is also not "queen" size, it is between a full and a queen. We replaced the bottom sofa with a platform restoring it to 2 queen beds, but had to shorten the left side couch by 7" to fit the queen platform in. The other side is the 2 swivel chairs option. We bought spring mattresses - a 9" for the bottom and an 8" for the top. The spring mattresses are much more comfortable than the foam sheet pads that came with it. If we need more seating in the back we lift the 2 beds to the ceiling and setup some folding chairs. For the price of the folding couch you can buy 3 really nice folding chairs.Re: DC Wiring question 4x4van wrote: ... Actually, the only downside to the USB section is that the LED is bright and on all the time. I mounted it inside a cabinet, so it's not an issue, but it would be annoying at night otherwise. ... A little dot of black electrical tape over the LED might work. Did same thing on an old movie camera over the red RECORD light so people wouldn't know when the camera was on.Re: Taller Mattress On Happijac Bunks? Not exactly sure what you are asking. We put a 9" thick mattress on the bottom bed of ours and an 8" one on the top. We didn't have to adjust anything. To change the position of the stops for the top bunk the metal block stops inside the chain rails can be moved (2 screws), but there are only a couple of positions lower on our setup. The L brackets that hold the platforms to the chain driven carrier can be flipped over to change things around, too.
