Put Michelin's on the front 2 years ago, best smoothest tires I've ever had.Re: Thinking about 5th trade in for class AI like blue OX baseplates, they are nearly invisible.Re: Air pressure with the tire offWhen I got new tires, I had 90 degree valvestems put on. Fronts and outer duals are rotated to be directly accessible. Inner rears are rotated to stick out, plus a solid 3" extension, plus a flowthru TST pressure sensor. I can easily check them all, just have to unscrew the sensors. Rarely do though, the tst system checks them every 7 seconds or so...Re: Thor ACE vs Forest River FR3 Effy wrote: We are on our second ACE and I have nothing but good things to say. We've had very little issues, it rides very nice for an entry level class A, no major failures, and Thor has been one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. Frankly I scratch my head at a lot of the brand bashing that goes on around here. I think you usually hear bad things about Thor from folks who have never owned one. The full wall Schwintek slides were a black eye, but they aren't thor specific. Every brand that used them had issues. As far as comparison, I can't say much about the FR3 as I've never owned one. I think at this price point you are likely splitting hairs on differences. Didn't your Ace #1 go back because no one could get the slideout to work? It's been a few years, my memory could be failing. :)Re: Big rig tire rotation. When I had the gasser I rotated them, it had 6 identical steel wheels. The Monaco has 3 pairs of different wheels, them don't get rotated.Re: How long to leak down your air system?Interesting thread.... Am I the only one who always dumps air pressure when setting up? I stroke the brakes and hit the dump valve down to 40 psi before leveling always. That way a dog or kid can't accidentally release the parking brake.Re: Vacuum CleanerAnother vote for Shark Rocket. Ours is 2 years old, still going strong. We vacuum daily because we camp full time with 3 siberian huskies. Our builtin vac hasn't been used in a long time.Re: Diesel Pusher BluesOur '08 ISL has been back to cummins once, very early in my ownership, perhaps in spring of 2011. Ours has 2 DPF lights, one says it wants to regen, the other says regen is in process. Before putting the motorhome in storage that first winter, the "I want to regen" light was on, and I ignored it. When I fired it up in the spring, the check engine light came on and it went into limp mode. I took it to Cummins. They did a scan and showed my a very thorough printout from the engine computer. The only code was for low fuel pressure. The service writer suggested he's seen this before and we should change the fuel filter. He also advised me that if I ever saw that "I want to regen" light so much as flicker, get her on the highway and keep going at 65 until the regen happens and finishes. So he cleared codes, loaded the current s/w into the ECM, a new fuel filter and sent me on my way. The "I want to regen" light came on almost immediately, and I think I drove halfway across Illinois waiting for the regen cycle to finish. 30,000 miles later now, the systems operation is a little more clear. When the "I want to regen" Light comes on, I head to the nearest highway, and just drive.Re: Water heater 110v light not onthe red light built into your switch has failed. You'll need to replace the switch. You can find them at jrproducts.com or on ebay. Good news is, the new ones have led's and they don't fail as often.Re: video wiring upgrade?Continuing to study on this. Doing more research, found a TV I like...lol. On the wiring... RGB/LR component is "HD" but maxes out at 1080I. That's what I have now, and that's what my hopper3 is delivering to the television. I have room to put a smallish bluray player back by the TV. I won't be able to connect it to the surround sound, but the DW yells at me if I play anything loud anyway. Maybe I'll get a sound bar? Still not sure on the hopper. Even if I could run an HDMI cable the spec doesn't support 4k at more than 25 feet. Considering moving the hopper, using the existing coax for the sat signal. It's the right kind of wire. I'd be giving up park cable to that TV tho...
