Other than weight, things can still go wrong with the highest end 5th wheels since compared to the auto industry with robotics and quality control to stay competitive, the RV companies seem to be more interested in getting the product out the door as quickly as possible. However, there are a few top remaining companies out there. Double Tree was a great full time rig. I understand they are no longer in business, but many of their near new units are out there on the lots. Carriage is also a good quality rig. The better built they are of course the more you will pay. Double Tree is still around, had to change name to DRV due to conflict with the Hotel chain of the same name.Re: Residential fridge during StorageKeep it plugged in and fill the fridge with beer so then each day when you tell the wife you are going to check on the trailer you have cold refreshments waiting for you.Re: Camping in Black Hills SDRafter J Bar Ranch in Hill City is really nice and a good central location.Re: RV friendly fuel stop on I70 rhagfo wrote: I will play devils advocate and ask WHY? 250 miles or so do you have a short bed and small tank? It is basically a down hill tow, you should get at least 10 mpg, if not 12 mpg. I could get there with an easy 80 miles of fuel left. That said, you do realize that all service stations get filled by double tankers. They fit just fine, you just need to look ahead as you approach. True but I will be going from Grand Junction which is uphill, not sure what kind of mileage I will get so I'm trying to plan ahead just in case. The tanker trucks do not have to go through the islands, they usually fill at the end of the drives/lots.Re: RV friendly fuel stop on I70There are no truck stops on this stretch. I Googled and found a Sinclair station in Eagle Colorado that looks like it might have a RV friendly pump island, just wondering if anyone has had any experience driving this stretch.RV friendly fuel stop on I70Hope someone can help. I'm looking for a RV friendly (40' 5TH) fuel stop (diesel) about 1/2 way between Denver and Grand Junction on I70.Re: forest river qualityWe are very happy with our CC 36ckts. Wife and I go to the RV shows to see what is new and walk away saying we didn't see anything we like better than what we have. Have not found one with as much room as we have in the bedroom even with the king size bed.Re: Best polish for gel cap and sides of 5th Wheel C-Bears wrote: I only use NuFinish twice a year. Has always worked great for me and is easy to take off with microfiber towels.
