My wife and I were pulling our new 3750fl Montana on our trip out west in October this year in stead of our Lance 861. All was well till we pulled into Walsenburg Co. truck stop and the wife cut a little too short and the back of our Dodge one ton Mega Cab contacted the front right of the Montana POW! out went the passenger side back glass and two small dents in cab. Did not hurt the Montana, only a slight scratch. The cost to fix truck was 2,581.00. Lesson, do not cut too short. There is plenty of room, but a driver not used to a 5r can make a mistake. I have had a slider hitch but much prefer my B&W. Just watch what you do and all will be fine.433Views0likes0CommentsRe: Two Tire Questions
I had a time frame I had to get the repairs done in before heading out again.My ins. Agent said get it fixed and Goodyear paid all repair expenses. October 5th this year, headed into Gunnison, Co. Had a Goodyear China Bomb come apart and do almost 1,500.00 damage to my 2011 Montana. Replaced all four tires at Big O's in Montrose, co. When I got home, notified Goodyear, they sent me a claim form, and requested I return the destroyed tire to them thru a dealer. They paid me for the one tire and refunded my deductible on my Insurance and paid my Insurance company back. They also sent a letter stating: that if I will purchase new tires in excess of the 503.36 I spent on the other three replacements, on either Goodyear, Kelly or Dunlop, before ll-7-14 they will rebate me the 503.36. rockhillmanor, I can assure you the proper inflation was maintained, I have all four tires, three that are still looking perfect and the one that is shreds. I have been pulling 5rs for 16 years and the only two failures were Goodyear tires, one in the yard before I got rolling and it was on a Mobile Scout. I replaced all four at BigO's in Montrose,Co. with Cooper Mesa LT E series. American made and with a guarantee.
