Anyone seen any documentation on this would be done? My house batteries are located in the engine compartment so should not be a long run. I have not looked closely yet on the wiring.Lithium battery alternator charging.I was thinking about going ahead and upgrading my house batteries with drop in lithium batteries, not sure now. One advantage of the batteries is they have low resistance and can charge quickly due to the ability to receive high amp charging. I recently viewed a Victron video displaying how a continuous high amp charging rate can overheat your vehicle alternator. (smoke coming from alternator) This is concerning as I would hate to ruin the alternator I read a lot of people just replace their AGM batteries with no discussion of alternator upgrades/changes, etc. So I am basically asking if anyone upgrades have any issues with charging using the vehicle alternator mikeRe: My Dometic 15K has brain fadeWhat I have observed on my RV is the temperature may be at the set point on a thermometer sitting on a counter top but different at the single zone thermostat. From what I can see the thermostat is picking up the heat soak from behind the cabinet. It reads 89 degrees when at the countertop and most of the RV is at the set point. It never matches up until the sun goes down.Re: Is a toad necessary with a small motor home?I do have a question concerning the fridge. While breaking down the Rv and going somewhere is not a problem what are the chances of finding a level parking place to keep the fridge level within limits. I do travel with pets so I am not sure leaving them in an RV while visiting a location would make me feel comfortable. The fridge is the big concern. I sometimes wish I had pushed to have a compressor fridge installed instead of the 3 way. I live in Florida and my trips always stress me some concerning the fridge temp. ThanksSpare tire for 2014 MB 3500 SprinterI have been thinking about getting a tire carrier and purchasing a spare wheel and tire for the above Class B motorhome. The motorhome is the first dually I have owned so I have a couple of questions. 1. If I locate a steel wheel for the sprinter wheel can it be used for a spare for the front wheels and both inner and outer wheels of the rear? 2. Would anything need to be done to the valve stem to ensure it could be used on any of the wheels? 3. Purchase the wheel from MB or salvage yard or?? I am leaning toward purchasing the crazy expensive OWL Vans ladder/tire carrier combo. Besides price is there a downside to using this carrier? I asked the same questions on a Sprinter forum and got zero replies. I guess they did not want to help a new owner. ThanksRe: Best Class C sprinter if you had lots of moneyJust noticed you mentioned sprinter. The Coach House sprinter is the Platinum II. I also had a class b rv for touring. I wanted to upgrade it. Had to have a dry bath and twin beds. After looking at the Tampa Rv super show we purchased a Coach House Arriva. For our needs the floor plan is perfect.Re: Best Class C sprinter if you had lots of moneyCoach House Platinum. Quality build, great support from factory and owners. Florida company. We purchased a 272xl fr. They also will customize within reason.Re: Class B with high clearance and luxury interiorTake a look at a Coach House Arriva. Large fridge and has a separate shower. Ground clearance about on par with most other class b motorhomes. The aftermarket will probably be needed for whatever you choose. Click here to view ArrivaRe: Estes Park campgrounds and green jeep toursI want to thank everyone for sharing. After a few days of research we have booked a few days in Mueller State Park near Colorado Springs. I talked to a Colorado native and he told me the roads should be fine with no severe grades. The last time I was at higher altitude I never noticed any issues. Guess I will find out if things have changed. Thought about heading back east but who knows when another chance will come. Life is too short. MikeEstes Park campgrounds and green jeep toursFirst extended trip with new rv (27 foot class c) and wanting mountain views. No experience driving in mountains. Current ideas are stop in Colorado Springs for a couple of days then Estes Park and try out a couple of the Green Jeep tours. No real idea of a campground to stay at with no reservations. Probably be there first or second week in june. Anyone think this is a bad plan or have experience with the tours? No toad so getting around might be tough. Thanks Mike & Jackye
