Lost a 350 chevy that way once. Crank bearings rusted on it and spun one.Re: New 2024 Chevy HD and Increased Dmax PowerAll the new pickups are ugly as dog **** folks. And lets be honest, their isn't a tinkers difference between em on performance or reliability anymore.Re: Time for new tires already? The only tires that ever impressed me over the years were Goodyear Workhorse tires, they were a bit noisy but they wore like iron on my 1985 k3500. Currently we're running Cooper AT's and they aren't that great. I've also had good wear out of Uniroyal tires on half tons though.Re: Do Some Travel Trailers Have Levelling Jacks?I've only ever seen stabilzer jacks on trailers. I've often questioned a why motorhome jacks are used to lift the vehicle off the ground for leveling. Still, built in jacks for leveling that are capable of lifting would be handy for flat tires but I doubt that occurs often enough to be a real advantage .Re: Diesel Ram Owner Forced to Scrap Truck !I thought this was America!?Re: Recommendations? Good value inexpensive travel trailers.A few years ago we bought a new Puma trailer. At $26k it was total garbage. We traded it in less than a year later on a Sabre that was twice the $. Fortunately the Sabre was excellent quality. We sold that Sabre for a smaller older R Vision and although the R Vision is well put together for a lightweight trailer , there is no comparison in quality to the much heavier and more expensive Sabre. It seems that in the RV world you do tend to get what you pay for.Re: For your consideration, the Chinese Airstream.Even at that price, I still can't understand why anyone would want to camp in a tin can.Re: StepsI took a look at those Glowsteps. The issue with my trailer is that it has pre-set studs for the steps to go on and the placement does not match any other steps ive looked at. In fact, the steps that are on the unit have had additional tabs welded on to them to match the existing studs. Moving the studs isn't an option as i dont want to tear up the floor. Note: trailer is a 2007 R Vision 7200 ultra light ( double step currently installed but sits low enough that a single would work) So I guess my options are to buy new steps and have tabs welded to them but I definitely dont want to do that as the studs are less than 100% or install the folding steps. I thought this option would be easier so long as there isnt a clearance issue with the door.StepsWho here has removed their old steps and installed a new set of the Lippert one piece style folding stairs? Modification to the door sill plate looks necessary, anything else you ran into?Re: The Sewer ValveUpdate: What pain in the rear! Ive finally decided to silicone the gaskets into the valve to try to get the valve in without unseating the gaskets. Just no room between the flanges to work with.
