I lift the jacks to keep the ants out... No problem. Lowers it down on the cradle, it's fine. My weight is 7000 also.....I bought 2008 chev one ton steel wheels and mounted 285 on them. 3700 lbs. capacity. Love it. Stayed at visitors center along 95 and camped at a state park in Goergia ..had a grea time. Fuel was cheap and plenty to eat... Took about 10 gallons was water in the tank for the basics. Any questions just ask. :C
